If you’re shopping for a new car you can’t beat the recommendation of actual owners, and their experiences of actually living with a vehicle paid for with their own money. This is what informs the Auto Trader New Car Awards, the most important of their kind given they’re voted on in a survey of 220,000 real-world owners rather than the more usual industry pundits.
And this seventh year of the New Car Awards promises to be even bigger and better! With everything from family cars to luxury cars, the best choices for dog owners and new drivers (and a couple of personal picks from our in-house experts) we’ve got something for everyone. But the most important voice is yours, with 20 of the 23 categories chosen by actual owners, for a true reflection of what British car buyers value. People were asked to rate their cars across 16 different criteria, from reliability and performance to appearance and running costs. They were also asked about their overall satisfaction with their car and how likely they would be to recommend it to others. We’ll be announcing the winners in a special ceremony taking place Thursday 15 June and sharing the results here on the Auto Trader website and via our social media channels. Read on for a breakdown of the categories and nominees and stay tuned to hear which cars have won, and whether last year’s overall winner the Polestar 2 can make it two in a row or there will a new champion crowned!
