BYD | Paris Motor Show 2026

BYD is showcasing its most comprehensive range to-date in Paris – from pick-ups to SUVs, multiple powertrains and the new seven-seater Atto 8

BYD’s appearance at this year’s Paris Motor Show is a great opportunity for the brand to shine the spotlight on its cars and two clear powertrain directions (all-electric vehicles and its Super Hybrid tech). Its increasingly packed range comprises compact urban hatchbacks, family saloons, SUVs, and rugged pick-up trucks and the new seven-seater Atto 8.

Flash charging and more!

BYD’s product range juggles plug-in hybrids against battery-electric vehicles, and all of them are on show in Paris. Leading the plug-in lineup are models powered by BYD's Super Hybrid powertrains. These include the Dolphin G, BYD’s first compact model offering up to 646 miles of total range, and the new Shark, a high-performance hybrid pick-up truck. Crossovers and SUVs such as the Atto 2i, Sealion 5, and Seal U DM-i round out the hybrids

Alongside them, BYD will be showing off its continually expanding all-electric portfolio with updated designs. City-focused models like the Dolphin Surf hatchback (featuring a new five-seat layout) and the Atto 3 Evo will feature alongside the aerodynamic Seal saloon and flagship Sealion 7.

‘FLASH’ charging tech, which allows a 10 to 97 per cent battery recharge in just nine minutes if you use a ‘FLASH’ charging station, will also make its debut in Paris. It’s good timing then that BYD has confirmed its plans to get 3,000 FLASH charging stations set up across Europe by the end of 2027. Give us speedy charging like this on ALL electric cars, please!

New Atto 8 revealed

BYD’s new seven-seater electric SUV, the Atto 8, will be making headlines at the show and is set to hit European markets in early 2027. The five-metre-long SUV features an aerodynamic profile and a spacious cabin with leather seating across all three rows. Very fancy! The car will use the company’s 115 kWh Blade Battery available in two setups: a 455 horsepower rear-wheel drive version providing 405 miles of range, or a 764 horsepower all-wheel drive version capable of charging through the 0-62 mph sprint in under five seconds.

Inside, it will feature tri-zone climate control, heated and ventilated massage seating (to keep you supple), a panoramic glass roof (because of course), and an integrated refrigerator (didn’t see that one coming!) Drivers will get a 15.6-inch Google-based infotainment system, a 26-inch head-up display, and a 21-speaker audio system in top-spec versions. It will also have a little ‘frunk’ and a huge rear boot for you to fill.
