Avatr | Paris Motor Show 2026

Chinese brand Avatr brings its tech-packed luxury cars to Europe

The Paris Motor Show provides an excellent opportunity for new brands to introduce themselves, so here is Avatr doing just that! This Chinese luxury brand has a particular focus on tech and electric vehicles, and it has big plans to expand into Europe.

Here’s everything we know about Avatr…

Who is Avatr?

Avatr has been around for nearly a decade with the aim of establishing itself as a global luxury electric car brand to rival Zeekr, Xiaomi and Denza. It is a partnership between Chinese powerhouse, Changan, and battery manufacturer CATL. Avatr has also worked with tech giant Huawei on advanced driver assistance systems. Its cars are jointly developed between Avatr’s Headquarters in China and its global design centre in Munich, Germany. Avatr already sells vehicles in 70 countries worldwide and next year it is due to arrive in Norway and Spain with the swoopy 06T and the 07L SUV. But its ambitions don’t stop there. Avatr plans to launch six models in Europe over the next three years and by 2030 it hopes to be selling its cars in 110 countries with over half of its sales taking place outside of China.

What makes Avatr different?

With some many new brands it’s hard to keep track of them all. Avatr sits at the premium of the spectrum with a particular focus on tech. It believes the definition of luxury is changing so it talks a lot about “Emotive Luxury” which is essentially how your car makes you feel. From what we can see, design-wise this materialises in a very similar way to other brands like Zeekr and Denza. The Avatr models displayed in Paris feature reclining seats, big screens and plenty of AI-powered tech to help your car integrate into your lifestyle.

Avatr also says it plans to build partnerships so European customers can buy from local dealers and should have easy access to aftercare services.

Avatr 06T and 07L

The 06T and 07L will be the first Avatr cars to arrive in Europe. The 06T is a swoopy estate version of the 06 previewed in Paris and it is the Avatr equivalent of a Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo or Denza Z9 GT.

Inside it has a minimalist interior featuring reclining ‘zero-gravity’ seats in the front and a massive 35.4-inch panoramic display which wraps around the bottom of the windscreen like the ‘iDrive’ display in BMW’s iX3. This is paired with a large central touch-screen and Huawei-powered safety tech. In other markets it is offered as either a fully electric car or as a range extender hybrid, but we will have to wait to find out more information about European specifications.

Meanwhile, the 07L is a large electric family SUV approximately the size of a Land Rover Discovery. It has a similar design as the 06T and it is also packed with reclining chairs and screens aplenty.

Avatr Concept T09

Also on the Avatr stand in Paris is the Concept T09, the brand’s new flagship model. This is an even grander version of the T09 – a glitzy Bentley Bentayga-size SUV sold in China. The Concept T09 ups the ante with its crystal logo and door handles, dual-colour paintwork and quilted maroon upholstery. We don’t know whether Avatr plans to bring the T09 to Europe, but it certainly makes a strong statement.
