Alpine | Paris Motor Show 2026

Future product and flights of fancy both take the floor as the French sporting brand flexes artistic muscles

Historically positioned as ‘the French Porsche’, Alpine was reborn as a one-model brand around the critically acclaimed A110 sports car. Small, beautifully styled and great to drive it remained a focused product but expansion into hot hatches with the A290 and performance crossovers with the A390 – both electric and with roots in related Renaults – has broadened Alpine’s customer base. And sales. To now call it ‘the French Cupra’ might sound a downgrade but offers a sense of where it now operates as a brand. Local pride dictates it puts on a show at Paris, and its stand bristles with new products and concepts detailed below…

The car as sculpture

Paris is famous for its art and culture so Alpine’s tease for its next-generation electric A110 is no mere model or mock-up – it’s a sculpture. But of course it is… Resplendent in the brand’s signature metallic blue, the swooping lines suggest a reinvention of the A110’s signature look, itself a retro-modern twist on the 60s original that spearheaded Alpine’s road and rally car heritage.

The Alpine Performance Platform beneath it is more engineering reality than artistic fancy and an exciting glimpse at the A110’s electric future. Joining the sculpture will be the Projet Spécial 1, a more traditional motor show concept and opportunity for Alpine’s design team to really have some fun with their marker pens and drawing boards. Anyone who missed the memo on Alpine’s French origins will be reminded by the tricolour headlights…

A310 Vision

Having taken the 60s A110 as inspiration for the first car of its new age Alpine is looking to the 70s and the lesser-known A310 that launched in 1971 for its other Paris concept. As such it takes on the harder-edged, blockier 70s style of the OG A310 for a very different twist on Alpine’s heritage.

For now it’s “an independent design concept, conceived as a creative exploration of Alpine’s heritage rather than the announcement of a future production model” but the quoted sizing and mention of the Alpine Performance Platform in the release announcing it teases that perhaps – just perhaps – something like this may join the line-up. No complaints from us if it does!
