  • No diesel engine available
  • New looks and updated tech
Mitsubishi will debut its 2020 ASX small SUV at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show.
The ASX has been around since 2009 and is Mitsubishi’s third-highest selling model. It rivals the likes of the Toyota CH-R, Peugeot 2008 and Mazda CX-3. The new model has got a new front-end, and now looks a lot more like the bigger Eclipse Cross SUV. There will be LED lights at the front and back, with a new skid plate design, and three new colours in the mix.
Inside, Mitsubishi has overhauled and redesigned the infotainment system. It will have a bigger screen, sat-nav with real-time traffic information (available on top trim models), and an app that will deliver information about your car, to your phone. It will check your remaining fuel levels and give you directions to the nearest fuel stations, along with maintenance and inspection guidance.
The new ASX also gets some updated safety kit, including an autonomous emergency braking system, blind spot assist and rear cross traffic alert.
Mitsubishi has said its 2.2-litre diesel engine will no longer be available, with the only option now a 2.0-litre four-cylinder non-turbocharged petrol engine. That will be available with a five-speed manual gearbox or a CVT transmission with ‘sport’ mode, and be available in two or four-wheel drive.
There are no details available as to when the new Mitsubishi ASX will go on sale, or how much it will cost in the UK, but we'll update you as soon as we know more. Read more about all the cars at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show.
