If you were writing a list of fast cars, it’s unlikely you would immediately include an estate. There are many cars like the Skoda Octavia vRS and the Volvo V90 T8 that pack more punch than your regular family wagon, but not all fast estates are born equal. The new Audi RS6 Performance is the fastest RS6 to date and should definitely be a contender for your list. It is only available as an Avant, Audi’s name for an estate, and remains a masterclass in how practicality doesn’t have to mean compromising on speed.
Though you might need to look closely, the 22-inch alloy wheels and large oval tailpipes give you a clue that this is not a regular Audi A6. The performance is certainly different. The RS6 Performance is the most powerful internal combustion engine model Audi currently makes, going from 0-62 mph in 3.4 seconds. That’s supercar quick. and in a car with up to 1,680 litres of boot space. Rory puts the car through its paces to see whether the impressive numbers on paper translate into a fun and engaging driving experience in real life. Is all that power worth it, or should you consider a BMW M3 Touring instead? If you enjoyed this video make sure you hit like, subscribe for more like it and let Rory know which fast estate you would choose in the conversation below.
