Porsche 911 GT3 Touring video review

Rory reviews the Porsche 911 GT3 Touring - an understated track car for people who don't want to look like they're driving a track car.

Rory Reid gets behind the wheel of the new Porsche 911 GT3 Touring model – which promises all the thrills of the standard 911 GT3, but in a more understated package.
The Porsche 911 GT3 Touring has taken steps to fit in a little bit more. The GT3’s giant ‘swan neck’ wing has been removed, though you do get a retractable rear spoiler in its places. Touches like the high-level brake light hidden under the spoiler, the twin centre exit exhausts and the mesh engine cover mean the GT3 Touring model is less ostentatious, but it doesn’t let you forget it’s a 911. And that confidence in its own power just adds to the car’s appeal. Mechanically, the Porsche 911 GT3 Touring is identical to the standard GT3, and uses the same 4.0-litre, flat-six engine for 510 horsepower at 8,400 rpm – and it’ll rev all the way to 9,000 rpm, probably just because it can. You should get 0-62 in 3.3 seconds and top speeds of around 198mph. Rather than a manual gear stick, you get a seven-speed PDK, which is surprisingly engaging, fast and snappy. Priced from £127,000, the Porsche 911 GT3 Touring hits that sweet spot of feeling like a supercar without drawing attention to itself in the process. It’s confident, understated, and absolutely worth a look. Watch the video for Rory’s full review, including how the Porsche 911 GT3 Touring handles, and who it’d be right for.
