  • Shares the SUV’s 2.2-litre diesel engine
  • Able to carry a tonne and tow 3.5 tonnes
SsangYong has brought its new pick-up truck to Europe for the first time. The Musso is on show at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show.
The Korean manufacturer has based the new model on its recently launched Rexton SUV, and the Musso shares elements with the car, such as the 181 horsepower 2.2-litre diesel engine. It also comes with a choice of a six-speed manual and six-speed automatic gearbox. It offers part-time four-wheel drive, and the ability to switch between high and low ratios to deal with trickier off-road terrain. The engine helps give the Musso the ability to carry more than one tonne in weight, and pull trailers weighing up to 3.5-tonnes. The loading bay comes with lashing hooks to tie down tools and loads, and it also features 12V/120W power outlets, so accessories can be plugged in.
Rather than just being a workhorse, SsangYong says the Musso has a completely redesigned interior to offer a passenger-car level of refinement. To help boost comfort, it comes with heated and ventilated leather seats, an infotainment system with DAB radio, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto that all shows up on an 8.0-inch screen.
Although pricing has not yet been confirmed, SsangYong confirms the Musso will go on sale in the summer.
