Have you ever looked at a Ford Ka+ and thought: 'I wish this looked more like an SUV'? Well, you’re in luck, as the Ford Ka+ is the latest model to get an SUV-style makeover.
The Ka+ Active will come with a raised ride height (up 23mm on the standard Ka+) and some rugged exterior styling touches, including some new front grille designs, roof rails and wheel-arch mouldings. Buyers can also opt for 15-inch alloy wheels that are only available on the Active model, as well as 'Canyon Ridge' bronze metallic paint. Inside, the Ka+ Active comes with special embossed scuff plates, a leather steering wheel, special fabric designs on the seats and all-weather mats. And both the Ka+ and Ka+ Active come with Ford’s Sync 3 communication and entertainment system, rain-sensing wipers, and automatic headlights.
Buyers choose between a range of petrol and diesel engines, including a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine with 70- or 85 horsepower, and a 1.5-litre diesel with 95 horsepower. All Ka+ Active engines come with a five-speed manual gearbox.
On top of that, the Ka+ Active has a wider track, larger front anti-roll bar, uniquely tuned steering, retuned suspension and Active Rollover Prevention, which helps stabilise the car when it's carrying roof loads. The Ka+ Active is the second of Ford’s ‘Active‘ small-SUV models after the Fiesta Active. Both go on sale later this year. The Ka+ Active will cost from £10,795.
