Aston Martin has a long and proud tradition of building fast and luxurious sporting coupes stretching back to James Bond and beyond. A long and proud tradition … it’s more or less ignoring with this new Valhalla. Other than the front grille. But more on that in a moment.
For now it’s less 007 and more F1, as Aston Martin leans into its motor racing activities with a new range of mid-engined supercars taking on Ferrari, Lamborghini and the rest. The Valhalla does this with a combination of traditional petrol-fuelled drama from a mid-mounted, turbocharged V8 engine and a total of three electric motors. Combined, they put well over 1,000 horsepower to the road for a top speed of well over 200mph and 0-62mph in just 2.5 seconds. Or … you can cruise around town silently on electric power alone. Just not for that long. All things relative the Valhalla is more usable than wild and wonderful Valkyrie as well. In that you can drive it without having to wear ear defenders to stop yourself going deaf. And it’s more than a match on paper for hybrid supercar rivals like the Ferrari 849 Testarossa and Lamborghini Revuelto. But it’s also a lot more expensive. And then there’s the attempt to graft a traditional Aston Martin grille onto a modern, F1-inspired supercar. Join Rory to learn more about this, and the way it drives on both road and at full send on the track.
