What do you do when even a standard Lamborghini doesn’t make a big enough statement for you? Given the brand’s supercars like the Aventador and Huracan are already among the most outrageous cars you can buy that’s a pretty tall order. But one the owner of this particular Aventador has addressed, with a little help from Dubai-based coachbuilders Huber. Best of all? He’s let Rory have a go with it to find out what it’s like.
The Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Huber Era 001 might be a bit of a mouthful to say but the spirit behind it is easier to understand. Under the headline ‘Paying our respect’, Huber explains the inspiration behind the project in straightforward terms. “With the lifespan of our favourite supercar nearing its production end, we felt it appropriate to make a tribute to the iconic era of this car,” says the company’s website. And here in the UK it found its perfect customer, a serial Lamborghini owner wanting one last spectacular roll of the dice and an Aventador that would stand out even when surrounded by other supercars at the events he runs for them. The 2017 Aventador LP700-4 Roadster in stunning Viola Ophelia paintwork he chose was bought on impulse while browsing adverts on – where else – Auto Trader, before being given this amazing makeover by Huber. Suffice to say, this is not your average bodykit. As you’ll see in the video, where Rory guides you round the exquisite workmanship of the eye-catching carbon fibre additions Huber has made to an already pretty outrageous looking car. For good measure the power has also been increased from the standard 700 horsepower to 750 with a ‘Stage One’ tune, which is good for 0-62mph in just 2.9 seconds and enough to keep pace with supercars far more youthful than Lamborghini’s venerable V12 beast. While spitting flames and making a sound like rolling thunder, obviously. All Lamborghinis are bought to make noise, and the owner of this one is pleased that his shouts louder than most. But styling upgrades are by their nature an individual choice and if the next owner doesn’t share his tastes that’s fine – the Huber bits are all bolt-on, bolt-off and the car could be returned to its original look in a matter of hours. For now, though, it’s doing what the Lamborghini Aventador has always done best – turn heads. Just more so. Enjoyed this video? Subscribe to our YouTube channel for more!
