We are a nation of dog lovers and, as such, many car buyers are looking for transport to satisfy the needs of their four-legged friend. A good dog car should be comfortable, able to cope with muddy paws and it also needs to have a large boot with a low loading tailgate so dogs can jump (or lifted) in with ease.

Despite strong competition from the Kia Sportage and the Volvo XC40, the Tesla Model Y takes home the prize for 2026. One owner said, “They have thought of so many things to make the car better than others,” adding “being able to put dog mode on is amazing.”
