Volvo Car UK has released information and pictures of its new EX30 Cargo, a car-derived van based on the fully electric EX30. It will be available in two models, a standard EX30 Cargo version and an EX30 Cross Country Cargo version with greater ground clearance. It will be available exclusively through Volvo’s fleet sales channels with prices starting at £36K (OTR).

How has the Volvo EX30 been converted to a commercial vehicle?

The Volvo EX30 Cargo follows the same process as most cars when they’re converted to commercial vehicles. The rear seats are removed and replaced with a flat floor and an access panel to the lower floor, a bulkhead added to separate the cabin from the cargo area, and modified rear side panels and doors added to increase available load volume. The load floor is also fitted with mounting points.

How many variants of the Volvo EX30 Cargo will be available?

The Volvo EX30 Cargo will be available in two variants: the EX30 Cargo and the EX30 Cross Country Cargo, the latter providing additional ground clearance.

How much cargo can the Volvo EX30 Cargo carry?

The Volvo EX30 Cargo can carry a payload of up to 390 kg in its single cubic metre load space. Aside from the load floor and bulkhead, the EX30 Cargo also features extended rear door access allowing the doors to open wider for easier side loading. An additional cargo light improves visibility in the load area, and mounting points have been added to the load floor.

What powertrains will the Volvo EX30 Cargo use?

The Volvo EX30 Cargo will use the company’s new 150 horsepower Extended Range powertrain for customers who decide on a lower power output than the 272 horsepower powertrain, but still want a range of up to 300 miles. A more powerful 428 horsepower all-wheel-drive powertrain is also available.

What trim levels will the Volvo EX30 Cargo be available in?

The Volvo EX30 Cargo will be available in two trims, Core and Plus, alongside the Cross Country Plus as a standalone trim for the higher vehicle. As standard, the EX30 Cargos at the Core trim level are equipped with Safe Space Technology and Google Automotive Services, adaptive cruise control, front and rear park assist, a rear-view camera, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic LED headlights, the three-phase 11 kW onboard charger with heat pump and 18-inch alloy wheels. Plus trim adds more features including Pilot Assist and Digital Key Plus, a Harman Kardon sound system, heated front seats and steering wheel, two-zone climate control and wireless phone charging. Plus trim also adds some exterior styling with a dual-tone roof and 19-inch alloy wheels.

When will the Volvo EX30 Cargo launch and how much will it cost?

The EX30 Cargo is on sale now with prices starting at £36K (OTR) for the standard range model and is available exclusively through Volvo Car UK’s fleet sales channels.
