How has the BYD Dolphin been converted into the Dolphin Cargo e-Van?
BYD’s conversion of the award-winning Dolphin hatchback into a van is carried out in the UK. The conversion involves removing the rear seats and installing a full metal bulkhead behind the front seats to create a 1,093-litre cargo space and 47-litre underfloor storage space. The maximum load length is 1.25 metres, the width between the wheel arches is 1.01 metres, maximum width is 1.16 metres, and maximum load height is 71 centimetres. The load floor is ply-trimmed and complemented by hardwearing door cards and a bumper protection film. Added security can be provided by rear window options, including polycarbonate panels.
What is the BYD Dolphin Cargo e-Van’s maximum range?
The BYD Dolphin Cargo e-Van is powered by a 201 horsepower electric motor paired with a 60.4kWh battery and provides a WLTP range of up to 347 miles on the city cycle and up to 265 miles on the combined cycle. An optional 70 mph speed limiter will be available to fleets. The powertrain allows for V2L powering of external equipment.
What equipment will the BYD Dolphin Cargo e-Van feature?
The BYD Dolphin Cargo e-Van's spec is based upon the passenger car’s ‘Comfort’ trim level. The van will come with a heat pump, heated steering wheel and heated front seats, a 360-degree parking camera, and smartphone mirroring via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. BYD will also offer several ‘upfit’ options including reversing alarms, amber warning beacons, vehicle livery and customised storage configurations.

The BYD Dolphin Cargo e-Van is available to order now through participating UK BYD retailers and is priced from £29,358 (ex VAT), with fleet support available for corporate customers via the BYD UK Corporate Sales Team.
