Iveco’s first wireless charging-capable eDaily large electric van will be used by A35 Brebemi, an Italian toll road connecting Brescia and Milan, part of Aleatica group. The specific van is a converted 42C Crew Van version featuring a six‑seat cabin and features an integrated inductive charging system developed to interface with Brebemi’s own charging infrastructure. It can be charged while standing still and when on the move!
Brebemi’s wireless charging research began several years ago working with Arena del Futuro and continued through the start-up VoltAtire. The partnership established an open-air laboratory, which has attracted the interest of manufacturers and established Brebemi as a key name in wireless charging technologies.
Wireless charging technology has been gathering pace over the past few years with France opening the world’s first highway section with dynamic wireless charging, while the United States (most recently in Florida) has launched public‑road tests for inductive charging of electric vehicles. The experiments are already hitting the roads… and Iveco is taking centre stage right now.

What does this wireless charging technology mean for Iveco?

Marco Aimo-Boot, Vehicle Electrification, T&D Innovation and Advanced Engineering at Iveco Group, said: “After nearly a year of testing wireless charging in both static and dynamic modes on the equipped ring at the A35 Brebemi 'Arena del Futuro' site - with highly positive results - we seized the opportunity to prepare a new eDaily equipped with the DWPT system. Our ambitious goal is to extend static charging functionality to compatible public sites.” Norberto Codegone, Head of LCV Product Management at Iveco, added: “The development of this solution within our technology portfolio represents a concrete step forward on our decarbonisation path. Testing [the technology] directly on the highway further demonstrates how dynamic charging can effectively support daily operational needs, ensuring safety, performance, and service continuity for drivers and operators. Our project with A35 Brebemi opens new perspectives for electrification in the sector and reaffirms IVECO’s determination to lead innovation on the road, where the mobility of the future takes shape.” Norberto Codegone, Head of LCV Product Management IVECO.
