Ford’s new Delivery Assist system aims to save time by allowing delivery drivers to set up an automatic sequence of turning off the engine, closing windows, lock doors and switching on hazard lights from the infotainment system, potentially enabling more deliveries per shift.
The technology aims to support drivers and fleet managers alike by ensuring vans remain secure while drivers leave the vehicle to make deliveries. The premise is simple: reduce the number of tasks that drivers need to remember to do by enabling them to concentrate on drop-offs and their surroundings rather than the van.

How Does Ford Pro’s Delivery Assist System Work?

Once the Delivery Assist system is activated in the infotainment system, whenever the driver stops and shifts into ‘Park’ it will automatically close the windows, switch on the hazard lights, turn the van off and lock the doors once shut after the driver has retrieved the correct package.
On return to the vehicle, when the driver touches a door the key-free system will detect which door the driver needs to open and unlock it. Restarting the van and reversing all the applied tasks is done by pressing the brake pedal and putting it into ‘Drive’. Drivers can tailor the checklist of vehicle functions to their needs. Have a look at the video embedded below to see it in action.

What Ford Vans Will Delivery Assist Be Available On?

Delivery Assist is available on all 2025 E‑Transit and EcoBlue diesel-powered Transit models with automatic transmission. It will also be available on the all-new E-Transit Custom and automatic transmission-equipped Transit Custom vans, with the first customer deliveries expected from summer 2025.
