Everything we know about the Kia PV7

Kia has released teaser images giving us the first look at (bits of) the PV7, the second van in the brand’s all-electric lineup. Here’s everything we know about it

The PV7 joins Kia’s ‘Platform Beyond Vehicle’ (PBV) lineup in the electric light commercial vehicle market. Kia has unveiled teaser images of the Kia PV7 ahead of its global debut at IAA Transportation in September… so the ‘everything we know about it’ is quite (very) limited. However, we do have some nuggets to share…

Is the Kia PV7 bigger than the PV5?

Yes, the Kia PV7 will provide increased space and capabilities beyond the PV5 “meeting the evolving needs of business customers across a broader range of commercial and lifestyle use cases”, in the company’s own words. It looks set to be about the same size as a ‘normal’ medium-sized van.

What do the teaser images tell us about the Kia PV7?

Well, not a lot. The teaser images plop the PV7 in a range of everyday settings with it sneaking into frame in a few different scenes. It looks like a slightly larger and more robust version of the PV5, which should see it sitting in the competitive medium van segment of the market.

Is the Kia PV7 built on the same platform as the PV5?

Yes, the Kia PV7 is built on the company’s E-GMP.S platform and is the brand’s second dedicated PBV model.

When will the Kia PV7 be launched?

The Kia PV7 will be revealed at IAA Transportation in Hannover, Germany on September 14th in 2026. Kia will also be showing off a range of PV5 derivatives.
