The BMW X3 has consistently been a popular option for those looking for a premium mid-size SUV, but does the latest version have what it takes to stand out against rivals such as the Audi Q5, Volvo XC60 and Mercedes GLC?

On paper the X3 M50’s numbers look impressive with nearly 400 horsepower and a 0 to 62mph time of 4.6 seconds. Yet, we live in a world where budget-focused electric hatchbacks like the MG4 XPower are quicker at half the price, so does this beefy BMW offer enough to justify its cost?
