Vauxhall | Paris Motor Show 2026

A modern electric estate car – but not as we know it – here’s everything we know about the Vauxhall STX Concept

Humble estate cars have toppled out of favour over the last decade – even Volvo has all but given up on them – and SUVs now reign supreme on our roads. However, Vauxhall has other ideas, and the Paris Motor Show provides the perfect opportunity to show off its latest creation. Can Vauxhall make the estate great again?

Here’s a first look at Vauxhall’s STX Concept.

What is the STX Concept?

The Vauxhall Sports Tourer eXperimental Concept – or STX to its friends – is an all-electric reinterpretation of an estate car based on brand’s new “Bold and Pure” design language and it gives us a sneak peek at what’s to come from Vauxhall.

How does the STX Concept look?

The STX Concept is the first Vauxhall to wear the new simplified Griffin emblem. This is illuminated and takes pride of place on Vauxhall’s new ‘Vizor’ front grille design. The badge sits in the centre of a compass-like design, and it is surrounded by an angled lines fanning out across the front of the car.

The bonnet has some dramatic creases along its length, and this theme continues with the diagonal line down the body under the A-pillar. The rest of the car’s side smooths out with illuminated ‘STX’ lettering appearing near the rear-most pillar, while at the back the roofline slopes down and the compass motif returns in the rear light signature. The wheel design is inspired by the Nova and first Corsa models.

It’s all very sci-fi and worlds away from the traditional “box on wheels” look of previous estates, including the current Astra Sport Tourer. Vauxhall says this new look paired with the latest tech should “amplify the emotional appeal of a car, not diminish it”.

The shape of the car has been optimised for efficiency with a low stance and long body aiming to eke out the range and improve the driving experience. The help improve aerodynamics further blue diffusers can extend from the back of the car to optimise airflow which vertical vents behind the wheels can open and close to make the STX Concept more streamline.

What’s the interior like?

Vauxhall is being enigmatic about the inside of the STX Concept, instead it talks about an immersive “Painting with light” approach previously seen in the 2025 Vauxhall Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo. Vauxhall has promised specially developed lightweight seats, but we will have to wait to find out how these will look.

Performance and range

Vauxhall hasn’t gone into detail with performance figures either, but it has said the STX Concept is all-wheel drive and capable of exceeding 124mph.
