With household budgets squeezed ever tighter affordability matters more and more to drivers
Affordability is always a huge consideration for car buyers, especially when it comes to electric cars. So, we’ll take it as a good sign all three finalists this year are battery powered, suggesting consumer confidence is growing in this regard and EVs look less financially intimidating than they once did.
Best of the bunch and this year’s winner is the Skoda Enyaq, beating the Tesla Model 3 and Kia EV3. One owner highlighted the Skoda as “very affordable to run, especially when charging it at home.” Others were quick to mention it’s also just a “great quality and good looking car”, but our favourite was one driver who said “it is easy to charge and has enough range for a week's worth of travel”, making it an easy daily driver.
In an era of rising fuel prices and living costs, a car that keeps itself running affordably is paramount. Huge congratulations to the Skoda Enyaq for being THAT car this year!
