The UK factory conversion of the new generation Land Cruiser into a commercial vehicle is set to be a key model in Toyota Professional’s range of light commercial vehicles. It will be offered in a single-model range – a five-door long wheelbase model with a load volume of two cubic metres - and offered with higher equipment specification than the previous Land Cruiser Commercial. The vehicle goes on sale in August 2025 and will be priced from £51,729.17 (commercial vehicle on-the-road).

Design and models available

The new model is a factory conversion of the all-new Land Cruiser passenger car. It offers all-terrain capabilities with a load space and decent equipment specification. Toyota is positioning it as an alternative to the Hilux pick-up truck for customers who don’t need to carry as much people or weight. The conversion is being carried out at Toyota Manufacturing UK’s Burnaston production facility in Derbyshire. Check out the pictures and you’ll see that the conversion process involves removing the rear seats, making the back windows opaque with interior steel panel inserts, and the addition of a full-height metal bulkhead with a mesh top section.

Cargo and practicality

The vehicle’s load space features an edge-to-edge floor tray measuring 1.09m high, 1.68m long and a maximum of 1.28m wide and provides a load volume of two cubic metres. The Land Cruiser Commercial will also be able to tow loads weighing up to 3.5 tonnes.

Specification and tech

The range will consist of just a single model – a five-door, long wheelbase version. The equipment specification is higher than the previous Land Cruiser Commercial with a full range of the company’s new comfort and safety systems being included. The driving assistance features will also include a Blind Spot Monitor, front and rear parking sensors and Safe Exit Assist. A few of the specification highlights we could pick out include 18-inch alloy wheels, power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats and steering wheel, powered back door with window hatch, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, electronic parking brake and automatic dual-zone air conditioning. The infotainment system will also include a nine-inch touchscreen and wireless smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

Engine/Powertrain

The commercial version is set to use the same 2.8-litre engine as the passenger version of the Land Cruiser mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The powertrain provides permanent all-wheel drive and selectable drive modes, and off-road performance systems including Crawl Control, Hill-start Assist Control and Downhill Assist Control. At a later date, the powertrain will be upgraded to use the company’s upcoming Hybrid 48V mild hybrid system.

Price and release

The all-new Toyota Land Cruiser Commercial goes on sale from the 1st of August 2025 with deliveries to customers expected from September. The commercial vehicle on-the-road price is £51,729.17.
