Welcome to Autotrader’s Wheelie Bad Ideas , and Rory’s latest madcap scheme to test how different wheels affect the handling of his long-suffering BMW Z4 with the help of his equally long-suffering partner-in-crime Peter. With his help Rory has already fitted the Z4 with train wheels, tiny wheels and monster off-road rubber and now it’s time for … F1 wheels. And the question, can racing rubber unlock even more potential from the little BMW?
As with the previous challenges, it takes all of Rory’s determination and Peter’s skill with the welding torch and angle grinder to get the wheels on. And the results are, visually at least, astonishing. Will racing rubber help or hinder the BMW in a series of tests to measure acceleration, braking and handling, though?
