The EV6 was the start of a whole new era of electric cars from Kia. It had a striking presence with its coupe-crossover stance and set the standard for newer models like the EV9 and EV3, which was voted New Car of the Year at our 2025 Drivers’ Choice Awards by owners. Yet, Kia hasn’t stopped there, and it is continuing to extend its line-up further with the upcoming EV4 and EV5.
Despite this busy time at Kia, it hasn’t forgotten about the EV6, and it has even found time to give the whole range a refresh. In this video Rory takes the supercar chasing, performance focused GT version for a spin. This isn’t the first time Rory has driven an EV6 GT. While the speed of the previous version impressed him, in the cold light of day the price tag was difficult to justify. So, what does he think of Kia’s latest offering? The updated EV6 GT packs a larger battery, even more power, and a very special party trick – flappy paddles to emulate a manual gearbox in an EV! All this and it actually costs less than before. Is this now the perfect fun, fast, family SUV and how does it shape up against the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N? You’ll have to watch the video to find out. If you enjoyed this video give it a like and let Rory know your thoughts on the EV6 GT in the YouTube comments. You can also subscribe for more like it.
