This month’s selection of cars to try out, buy or simply dream about

Trying a car has never been easier – lots of car brands now offer subscription services on a monthly basis, with no down payment or exit fee so you can swap in and out of different models with minimal notice. Or you can lock in for longer, on a leasing deal, which still means you just pay a monthly amount and hand the car back at the end of the deal. Additionally, some brands provide 24-hour test drives for a chance to get to know the car before you commit.
Then there’s the Buy choice, whether it’s paying for the car in one hit or signing up to a fixed term finance deal with the option to buy the car at the end. These are cars that make good long-term sense. And finally our fave section, for dreamers everywhere. The new luxe stuff, the wishlist option or the treat yourself splurge, depending on how big that imagined windfall might be. Enjoy this month’s offerings!

Try

Peugeot E-208

The Peugeot E-208 is a funky hatchback full of French flair and va-va-voom. It’s distinctive inside and out with its claw-like front lights and its unique ‘i-Cockpit’ interior layout. The latter is a bit like Marmite – you’ll either love it or hate it – which is why it’s well worth taking Peugeot up on its offer of a 24-hour test drive to find out if the E-208 suits you before committing to buying one. If you and the E-208 do get along, you’ll be pleased to know it qualifies for a government grant of £1,500 and you can now get up to eight years of warranty if you take your electric Peugeot to an approved dealer for servicing every year. Win-win!

2025 Renault 4 E-Tech

Renault 4

Renault is on a roll with its latest electric cars and the retro-inspired Renault 5 has gone down a storm. Following on from such a success could have been challenging but Renault rose to the occasion by bringing us the equally brilliant Renault 4. This takes everything we love about the R5, enlarges it and adds styling nods to the original R4 to create a unique car with a personality all of its own. With its easy going-nature and Google-powered tech the Renault 4 would be a perfect electric car for EV newcomers and seasoned early adopters alike. The Renault 4 is eligible for a £1,500 grant and, combined with some compelling finance options, it has never looked more appealing.

Pink Rolls-Royce Spectre

Rolls-Royce Spectre

Continuing this month’s all-electric theme we’re dreaming of the Rolls-Royce Spectre, the pinnacle of automotive luxury. Rolls-Royce and electric power are a match made in motoring heaven and the Spectre provides a smooth, silent and serene driving experience. There’s an infinite list of personalisation options so whether you fancy your Spectre in a Thunderbirds-inspired blushing pink, or you’d rather a more regal dark maroon, Rolls-Royce will happily oblige – anything is possible when money is no object. Alternatively, if you’re after something more menacing there’s the Spectre Black Badge, which is even more exclusive, ramping up the power and turning the opulence up to 11.
