Ford is an iconic manufacturer of commercial vehicles responsible for creating the Transit and Tourneo series of vans - including the best-selling Ford Transit Custom medium van. It also offers the largest range of commercial vehicles available in the UK with five different models of various sizes available right now.
Innovative, comfortable and competitively priced has always been the Ford hallmark, so let’s dive into the best of what the company has to offer.

1. Ford Transit/Tourneo Custom (2016 - Now)

This list starts where you’d expect with the Ford Transit Custom - the UK’s best-selling medium van and one of the best-selling vehicles in the UK full stop! The new version of the Custom is out and selling well, but the 2016 model (and especially the 2019 facelift) is where this van became THE medium van and started being copied by every other van manufacturer.
This van is the benchmark medium van, offering a flexible and practical loadspace with a comfortable car-like cabin filled with cubby holes for an affordable price. The Transit versions were either panel or crew cab variants, and the passenger Tourneo versions built out the interior into a multi-person cabin. A camper version, the Nugget, is also available and shows just how much space the previous Custom platform actually offers. Looking to the future, the next generation of Ford Transit Custom shows no signs of losing its position as a best-seller. It is a huge upgrade on previous versions and will eventually be available in diesel, hybrid or electric powered variants. Find your perfect Ford Transit Custom today.

2. Ford Transit (2013 - Now)

The van that named an entire category of vans, the Ford Transit is a global icon in the van sector. With over 8 million sold, it is the third best selling van of all time. Although having been on sale in various guises since 1965, the modern Transit platform has been in production since 2013, so that’s the one I’m recommending.
For those in need of a large van, the Ford Transit will definitely be on your list. Not only is it big and tough, but it also boasts a car-like interior and a massive range of body types and conversions for you to choose from. Available in diesel or electric formats, the Transit is often the place most people looking for a large van start their search. Find your next Ford Transit today.

3. Ford Transit/Tourneo Connect (2002 - 2023)

Ford’s small van - the current Transit/Tourneo Connect has been in production since 2002, and for a small van it has a large loading bay or passenger compartment and a lot to offer. In a marketplace of small vans that look like medium vans its car-like looks and size keep its popularity high and any model from the last two decades is definitely worth checking out.
Car-like vans still have their place in the market and you'll be hard pushed to find one as versatile as the Connect - the current generation is on the way out so grab a deal now if you can. The next generation of the Connect is a completely new van with a completely new platform, so do consider that when looking at what’s available. Find your Ford Transit/Tourneo Connect today.

4. Ford Transit/Tourneo Courier (2023 - Now)

Compact vans like the Ford Courier are worth considering if your daily commute involves navigating winding city streets. Its compact exterior dimensions make slipping into tight spaces effortless and its loadspace is perfect for carrying tools. It is available in diesel, petrol or electric models. The latest version has been heavily updated and takes over from the Connect in terms of size and function as the brand's small van and is definitely the best it’s ever been.
The most significant change is the increase in size from the first Courier. For business users, this translates in real terms to a cargo length increase of 181mm to 1,802mm and the load width between the wheel arches is now 1,220mm and unlocks the vehicle’s ability to carry two Euro pallets. For the Tourneo and Transit versions, the vehicle’s boxy loadspace volume is increased to 2.9 cubic metres meaning more room for cargo and easier conversion to a passenger version. There’s a lot to like about the new Courier, and you can read all about my first impressions of the new Ford Courier on the Auto Trader Vans pages. Find your new Ford Courier today.

5. Ford Ranger (2023 - Now)

I know it’s a pickup truck, but with the right accessories - a roller top shutter, storage drawers or a canopy on the loadspace - the Ford Ranger is a superb alternative to a van.
If you require a versatile pickup truck that excels both at work and leisure, the Ford Ranger is the perfect choice. It is designed to make a statement whether you are on the job or enjoying your weekend adventures. Sharing a platform with the Volkswagen Amarok, the new Ford Ranger is also available with a big 3.0-litre V6 engine that will make mincemeat of tough terrain. Each trim and spec level boasts a carrying capacity exceeding 1000kg, ensuring that regardless of the chosen version, it will serve effectively as both a personal and commercial vehicle. The Ranger showcases Ford's recognition that commercial vehicles frequently serve dual roles as personal vehicles and does a great job at doing both. Find your new Ford Ranger today.
