How the Chinese-built Leapmotor C10 landed in Europe is best left to a business news site to cover, but its main advantage is the backing from Stellantis (owners of Citroen, Peugeot, Fiat and Vauxhall, to name but a few). Relying on the same dealer network as multiple big-name brands is clearly helping to brush away any anxiety customers might have about leasing one. The C10’s design might be standard electric SUV fare, but you get a lot for your money! It’s way more modern and polished than many rival Chinese upstarts AND the C10 delivers serious space and polish while undercutting the lease deals on cars like the Volkswagen ID.4 and Skoda Enyaq.

Of course there’s a Volkswagen on our list of the most popular lease deals. The Polo is nearly as iconic a car as the Golf, but for leasing customers it holds an edge. With its excellent styling, premium-feel cabin, and strong road manners, the Volkswagen Polo has always felt ‘a class above’. It offers up impressive interior space for a supermini, a packed list of standard safety systems, and a good choice of engines. Here’s the best bit for leasers though… while the Polo might carry a premium price tag if you bought one outright, its strong residual values (the amount it will be worth after a lease contract ends) mean the lease deals themselves are usually head-turningly good.

The Seal is one of the jewels in BYD’s crown, delivering an impressive blend of eye-catching looks and interior experience, a bulging standard equipment list, and some genuinely good performance that our reviewer put somewhere between the Tesla Model 3 and BMW i4! There are a few minor flaws, mainly very keen safety bings and bongs, but the Seal’s on-road performance and great cabin means it continues to be a popular car to lease. Not for nothing, the car’s rear legroom and overall look and feel means it’s just as good at being a comfortable family transport as it is an efficient commuter car.

Peugeot Expert XL Diesel

The Peugeot Expert shares a lot with its Stellantis siblings – the Citroen Dispatch, Vauxhall Vivaro and Fiat Scudo – which means you get strong payloads, reliable diesel engines, and a practical load space. The cabin is one of the best bits about it, however, as it features Peugeot’s cool ‘i-Cockpit’ layout, which adds a sporty steering wheel and crisp digital driver displays. The van’s trim levels are also straightforward to understand and generous in what they offer. Given the modest price jump from entry-level ‘Professional’ to the top-tier ‘Asphalt’ trim, it’s easily the pick of the range and well worth a spot on your ‘must-lease’ list.

There is still a slightly more affordable (and upgraded) 58 kWh battery option that delivers around 217 miles, perfect for those who don’t need to travel far. The ID.Buzz Cargo has a reputation for being a stunning van, inside and out, that never fails to draw compliments and looks. Is there a catch? Well, other electric vans can carry heavier loads and cost less to buy and lease. However, that doesn’t stop leasers from snapping them up.

There are several reasons why the Ford Transit Custom continues to dominate the UK sales charts years: it’s brilliant to drive, has a practical and comfortable cab, and all Ford vans are backed by the company’s near-unbeatable dealer network.
