Modified cars can be a touchy subject. Some people believe that “a few choice mods” can improve a car beyond its standard specification. Others want to make the car their own, and spend a lot of time and money to make it as different from stock as possible.
Of course, owners are free to do as they wish with their car once they’ve bought it, as long as they stay within the boundaries of the law. But in 2001, Volkswagen announced its stance on modification with this advert for the Golf Mk4. We’ll let you take your own message from it.
