The EICMA show is in full swing but you don’t need to jump on a plane to Milan to see all the latest bikes and kit, given Motorcycle Live 2025 kicks off in Birmingham on November 15. A fixture of the biking year, its proximity in the calendar to the Italian show means we don’t have to wait long to see next year’s bikes on home soil, making it a popular event for British bikers. Many of whom will be especially interested to see Norton’s ‘resurgence’ playing out in the metal with the new Manx R and Atlas, these joined by exciting new bikes like the BMW F 450 GS, Triumph Trident 800 and Honda CB1000GT to name but a few.

Come and ride a bike for real!
But MCL is about more than sitting on shiny new bikes and making vroom-vroom noises in your head as you ponder your next purchase! Indeed, you can actually do that for real with demo rides both inside and outside the NEC show halls. These are also open to kids or partners attending and perhaps wondering what they might have been missing out on.
If that’s you the opportunity to ride a proper motorbike under the supervision of trained instructors might just be the spark to ignite a passion of your own! Kit can be provided – for the road routes all you need to bring is a valid licence for the level of bike you’re trying and enthusiasm to give it a go! It’s even easier in the Learn to Ride Zone, where anyone aged over 14 can learn the basics, licence holder or not.

A festival vibe ... at the NEC!
Following the success of summer events like the ABR Festival we attended earlier in the year MCL is also keen to bring some of that vibe to the off-season, the NEC’s halls hosting live shows, music, street food outlets and a lot more besides the stands full of new bikes and kit. This build’s on last year’s significant reinvention of the event, and desire that it’s seen as more than just another trade show. Given the time of year and fact many riders may have parked their bikes up for winter it’s also a great chance to indulge the passion with friends and family without getting cold and wet in the process.
Various ticketing packages are available, including a pre-show offer with a free Roadskin T-shirt, cheaper week-day tickets for those with flexible working hours and kids’ entry for just a fiver. We’ll see you there!
