No reply to any emails requesting costs for servicing - a complete let down to Yamaha
YOU CANT PLEASE EVERYONE EVERY TIME !
I have bought bikes from Bill Smiths Chester for ten years both Triumph and Honda and found the service to be excellent. OK the cost of servicing can be seen as expensive but we are talking about a city centre dealership, of course Fred in a shed is going to be cheaper he doesn't have the overheads, and if you are really serious about buying a bike everything is negotiable have a haggle remember "never pay sticker price" I am sure that the £10 test ride fee would have been re-funded in the event of a purchase. There is a well known bike dealer in Cheshire that doesn't do test rides at all, no matter how serious about buying you are. I travel over thirty miles for Smiths to service both my bikes at a price I find acceptable, and at 67 years of age I am not about to change. Well done Bill Smiths Chester, keep it up
As agreed I had arranged within salestaff a test ride for Sunday at 11am on 14/7/19 on a 1200 speed twin at bill smiths motorcycles Chester, uk . When I arrived I was surprised to be told I have to pay £10 due to joyriders historically using the bikes . I’m 55 and always bought bikes without being told this . I was a cash buyer and went in this dealership to buy that new bike without any concern . The salesman made me feel awful by telling me to pay it or you don’t you don't get to go on the bike , I said I wasn’t aware of this he said well u have to , then he just Walked away leaving me shocked and totally put off buying . I had gone in happy and excited to buy this bike but now don’t want a triumph because of this poor service . I have rang his manager explaining the incident . I said I would let triumph know that I felt this salesperson had deterred me to buy the new bike with a poor rude attitude. Which is shocking given they saved their £10 but lost sale of over £12000 ?
Not had a very good experience
Not had a very good experience with this shop at all. Got a bike from them had issues for the first week of having it. been in for repair about 6 times and they can't fix it or find what's wrong with it. refusing to let it go to an independent shop, and will only give me 60% of what I put into it.. Very sad indeed
Charges customers for it's own admin fees.
Don't get me wrong the customer service at this place is excellent, the staff are friendly and definitely not pushy, they seem to be bike enthusiasts themselves which is great however.. The second hand bikes are slightly overpriced and often have unusually high mileage but I guess they have to stick a warranty on them so can't blame them for that. Took my own bike there with an exhaust problem, the service guy said he couldn't leave his desk to look at it but still manage to quote me 'around £400' I went to a small shop a few miles away they fixed it for £80. Finally this is one of those places that think it's acceptable to tag an 'admin fee' or 'document fee' onto their prices. I'm sorry guys but you are a BUSINESS, these costs are YOURS not your customers, they should be absorbed into your prices, if only these places realised how this deters customers. So much potential with a great range of stock but ultimately let down with the details.
