"Back in 2021 Cupra asked Audi if it might, were it not too much trouble, borrow the German brand’s signature five-cylinder turbo engine from the RS3 hyper hatch to have some fun of its own. Incredibly the answer came back positive and Cupra promptly went and stuck it in its excellent Formentor crossover to create the limited-edition VZ5. It just didn’t sell any of them here, more’s the pity. But the VZ5 is back again, this time with right-hand drive and available to UK buyers, albeit at a hefty price and in tiny numbers to guarantee exclusivity. Was it worth the wait?
