Words by: Ivan Aistrop
"The Abarth Punto Evo is probably the loudest-looking supermini on the market, and a welcome contrast to the conservatism of rivals like the VW Polo GTI and Skoda Fabia vRS."

How safe is it?
5/5
The Punto Evo hasn’t been crash-tested by EuroNCAP but the Grande Punto has, achieving the full five-star adult occupant rating. ISOFIX points for rear child seats are standard, as are front, side and curtain airbags. Unlike more basic versions of the Punto Evo, this car comes with electronic stability programme as standard.
How much equipment do I get?
4/5
The Abarth Punto Evo scores highly for standard equipment relative to its price – it has a legitimate flagship model feel about it. The body kit is obvious, but Brembo sports brakes add real value and the 17-inch alloys look special. Inside there’s Bluetooth with voice recognition, an upgraded stereo system, cruise control and climate control.
Why buy?
4/5
If you’re looking for something that announces very clearly your love of hot hatches, this could be the car for you. It’s not all show either, with an engaging and exploitable chassis no matter what your driving ability.
