Mercedes-Benz E Class

What a car. Fast, economical and fun to drive. I still think it looks fantastic. Getting in and out of the back is for youngsters, so see it as a 2 plus 2. Love the "growl" of the engine when you put your foot down. At the same time, if you just want to get home from work, at night, in the rain, in the traffic, it does that too. I love the xenon lights that look around corners and self dip. Just gets on with it, gets you hone safely, no drama.

Command is a bit of a disappointment, but in reality it does all you need and the sat nav is not bad. Having had a bmw 325 which although I think handled better when going fast, the mercedes is just a much better car overall. More comfortable, quicker in the real world, and just a nicer place to be.

I am glad I bought the e350 as when you need it it has plenty of power and I think I would have been disappointed with the 220.

This car is a keeper, I love it.

Mercedes E Class Coupe 350 CDI A Sport 2009 plate

Mercedes-Benz E Class

Ramas | 17th December '16

Never had a Mercedes, last car was BMW E93 so after 2.5 years of driving get fed up and bought E Class 59 Plate Coupe 350 Sport CDI A.So after a months of driving still very impressed, compere to BMW is different animal, drives very well, very smooth, power amazing torque like a monster when u pull from the start.Interior is where is comes to what is car all about, every piece of equipment is in style, comfort is amazing, despite is only four seats but it so comfortable in front and individuals two seats at the back also very comfortable as well.Downsides is classic a bit, still ignition start with a key(not a start button)Radio on screen look horrible lol fuel consumption not even close what it says on the manual,in town i do some like 22-26 mpg on motorway goes like double but you have to be very sensitive if you put your foot down mpg changes rapidly from average to worst.Boot is very good in size inside so much space and leather interior look beautiful so with all goods and bad i would say very nice car and would recommend to any one whos like comfort speed and power just make sure you earn enough to full it up or go for a lower engine.

The Best Car I've Ever Owned

Mercedes-Benz E Class

Mick-44 | 14th October '16

I wait till I've owned a car for 12 months before I review it, this way you get to see it through all seasons. Before buying I went to test drive a BMW 5 series, Jaguar XF and an Audi A5, they all had good and bad points, when spending this sort of money on a car it needs to fit you and your needs. The Mercedes did this and more. I commute 70 miles a day so it had to be practical and comfortable.

The good bits - it's a pleasure to drive, everything you need is at your fingertips and easy to use. Fuel economy on average is 50 - 60 mpg, if you want better then let the cruise control do it, the accelerator is very responsive and does lower the mpg (But it's worth it) let the cruise control do the gentle acceleration. I've driven over 500 miles in one go without stopping and to be honest I got out of the car with no aches or stiffness. I am over 6 foot and don't feel restricted, I have carried passengers in the back at similar heights and they have loads of leg room. Repair bills are surprisingly cheap, I've replaced a few bits due to wear and was impressed, if you take it to a Mercedes dealer then you will pay a high price, find a reputable garage that you trust and you'll see the difference. The boot is massive and can carry large suitcases with ease. The stereo is amazing a really good sound quality. Put it in a car park and stand back and watch, they are eye catchers.

The bad bits - The boot aperture is narrow, a small price to pay for the shape. If you aggressively accelerate in the wet when coming out of a corner the back end will kick out, the car will take control and calm it down, the best way to stop this is to upgrade your tyres, if your buying second hand it will probably have been done.

Overall I'm really impressed with my Mercedes and won't drive anything else. I look forward to driving it everyday and look for an excuse to go out, I never get tired of looking at it and with a simple wash and polish it looks amazing. If you try it you'll buy it.

Buy a C350 you won't regret it- get the Brabus pack keep forever

Mercedes-Benz E Class

fedupand50 | 31st May '16

I have an E350 Coupe with Brabus engine upgrade which replaced a Carrera 2 (after receiving a £9,600 service quote for the Carrera).

The E350 is as fast in the real world, more comfortable and returns a minimum of 40mpg,

After 66,000 miles and 5 years nothing has gone wrong, and other than pathetic Dunlop tyres it came with from Mercedes I have nothing to complain about. Replace the Dunlops with Continental and they last an extra 10,000 miles per rear set and 20,000 per front set (and are quieter and handle better, especially in the wet). Servicing is cheap, with major service, disc and pad replacement etc coming in at £1,000.

The SatNav is the best I have used (we also have a BMW and I frequently rent Audi's etc), the seats are fantastic (multi-contour and heated so good for my dodgy back) and we can just squeeze my 6ft 1 inch rugby player son in the back

Only downside is it is not as entertaining to drive so I am keeping the E350 as there is no need to change and buying an old Carrera2 for weekend fun.

it is a 2009 car - I have had it 2 years - 79,000 miles

Mercedes-Benz E Class

djellworth | 15th December '14

I love this car - hugely powerful, comfortable, all the extras. Plenty of room for passengers (well, enough...) Big boot and I think it looks great. Doesn't really like going round corners too much but loves straight roads. My BMW 1 series coupe was way better to drive - and the TT - but then I knew that when I got this. I think they are a real bargain second hand given the quality. Great sound system and easy to use sat nav. Not the cheapest to run but I love it and am sorely tempted to keep it for ever.

Wondeful Combination of Power, Good Looks & Economy

Mercedes-Benz E Class

MikeShaw | 17th October '14

I've owned my E Class Coupe 350 Diesel Sport for nearly two years, buying from Mercedes as an ex demonstrator. It really was love at first sight and it hasn't disappointed in terms of performance, economy or style. The car goes like the wind but isn't overly ostentation like some sports coupes! Now it's done 34000 miles the economy is incredible and on a long run is starting to return nearly 50MPG. The one minor criticism is that it was fitted with Yokoma tyres from new which really didn't suit the car. The ride is much better on Continentals which have lasted a lot longer too. The fold forward rear seats make it possible to get most things in the boot and the real leather makes such a difference - I wouldn't buy one with what Mercedes misleadingly call man made leather! In my opinion the Comand system with Sat Nav is another must have option and makes all the difference on a long business trip. All in all it's a great car and I'd highly recommend it.

SUPERB.

Mercedes-Benz E Class

olddrunk | 27th August '14

It was love at first sight.

Very dark (Tenorite) very glossy grey paint with the palest grey leather interior. AMG specification with 19 inch wheels. Glass roof. Two seamless sequential turbochargers make the engine is really eager from idling speed to flat out. Very good cruising mpg for a large performance car due to the very high top gear combined with seven speed auto box programmed to make the best use of 500 Newton metres of torque at only 1500rpm and the best drag coefficient in the world. Superb build quality.

One example of a standard safety feature. Mercedes took 10 years to develop a system by which the car knows when the driver is drowsy (thousands of tiny steering wheel measurements) and wakes up the driver with advice to stop and rest.

The lights are the best I have ever seen and look round the corner as you steer round the bend.

The satnav, the audio, the phone are all voice controlled.

Happy smile on my face.

The Best Car I have Owned!

Mercedes-Benz E Class

SukhySahota | 19th May '14

I’ve had my coupe for almost 18 months now and will be extremely sad to see it go (coming up to end of warranty period). I have owned a mix of cars from the Vauxhall’s and Ford’s to the mighty BMW’s and Audi’s and this was my first Mercedes….how do I feel about the previously owned cars?...Where have I been all these years….absolutely love, love love this! Such a smooth drive, the heated seats makes you want to sit in it that big longer which is always disappointing on those short journeys. Thankfully my commute to work is around 3 hours every day and driving this car makes it all worthwhile. The sound system is ace no pounding of speakers when on loud, again the heated sports leather seats are as comfy as they come and do wonders for my back, the little gadgets in the car never cease to amaze me. The parking sensors have been a life saver! Performance wise this drives a dream and helps put those boy racers to shame! I have had the MOT done on this car twice and it has never cost me more than £30 at the Mercedes garage itself and even the service which was done recently did not have any additional costs added on, the car was absolutely reliable, can't fault it one bit. Definitely the best car I have had to date!
