Ford Pro Confirms All-Wheel Drive E-Transit Custom
Ford is adding an all-wheel drive model to the E-Transit Custom line-up for those who regularly drive in challenging conditions.

The new all-wheel drive (AWD) Ford E-Transit Custom will launch in spring 2026 alongside an AWD version of the electric E-Tourneo Custom, with more details and specifications for the new models expected closer to launch.
What Do We Know About The New AWD E-Transit and E-Tourneo Customs?

The vehicles will feature new AWD tech aimed at creating a vehicle for those who operate businesses and drive in challenging conditions such as ice and mud. The new dual-motor AWD system will provide torque to all four wheels for better traction. The models are scheduled for a spring 2026 launch.
What Do We Know About The New AWD System?

Ford engineers have created an advanced AWD system for the E-Transit Custom by developing the existing rear-wheel drive layout with an additional high-power electric drive unit for the front wheels. These two independent front and rear drive units will provide torque to all four wheels to maximise traction on steep inclines, and enable better vehicle control in extremely slippery icy or muddy driving conditions.
When Will The New AWD Models Launch?
The E-Transit Custom AWD model is scheduled for launch in spring 2026, available in a range of variants including the ‘Trail’ series. It will launch alongside an AWD version of the electric E-Tourneo Custom.
