Large luxury campervans have a benchmark to live up to in the Mobilvetta Admiral K6.3, with only minor driving and cabin quibbles making any dents in its well-deserved reputation.

The Autotrader expert verdict:

4

The Mobilvetta Admiral K6.3 won the ‘Highly Commended Luxury Campervan’ award at 2025’s Practical Motorhomes Awards, and even if it hadn’t it would still come highly recommended. Despite being built on the aging yet reliable Fiat Ducato platform, the Admiral K6.3 delivers on every front. The sitting room and kitchen area is wonderfully upholstered and spacious with clever sliding and folding surfaces allowing you to maximise space when needed. The bathroom is also good with more than enough room for even the most enthusiastic showerers to enjoy themselves. In the back is a generous sleeping area filled with storage and lockers that can be customised for your needs. If ‘luxurious’ was the designer’s watchword, then they’ve delivered. Perhaps the only thing holding it back is a slightly lacklustre cabin and under-powered drive provided by the Fiat Ducato van platform, but once you’re parked up and enjoying your holiday you won’t notice either of them. The pricing is also highly convincing for those looking at large campers that offer a real return on investment.

Reasons to buy:

  • tickThe sub £80k price is excellent for such a luxurious large camper.
  • tickThe living/kitchen/bathroom area is well planned and doesn’t feel cramped.
  • tickThe sleeping/storage area is filled with lockers and cupboards, and feels safe to sleep in.

At a glance:

Drive

The Fiat Ducato model Mobilvetta has opted to use is well-equipped with driver assistance tech and is only let down by the slightly underpowered gearbox/engine combo.
The Admiral K6.3 is built on the Fiat Ducato platform (a long-serving chassis that is beginning to feel slightly outdated) and packs a 2.3-litre diesel engine outputting 140BHP under the bonnet, which is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. A modern campervan like this can feel slightly let down by the lackluster cabin environment offered by the Ducato, but solid efforts have been made by Mobilvetta to bring it to life with excellent upholstery and swivelling captain’s chairs. The drive is fine on flatter road surfaces, but we did encounter issues on most inclines as the gearbox struggled to find power (something we’ve not experienced with only slightly lighter motorhomes also built on the Ducato platform). That said, the vehicle model Mobilvetta has opted to use is well-equipped with driver assistance tech including cruise control, tractions control, stability control, hill assist, hill descent assist, start-stop engine, rear-view camera by way of the infotainment system main screen, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration, electrically movable and heated door mirrors, air con, the excellent captain’s chairs for the driver and main passenger, and a bench seat in the living area fitted with seatbelts for two extra passengers. Essentially, the Ducato platform is where the cost savings are made to enable the conversion to be as good as possible, so it’s a VERY easy trade. The drive is fine and will work for basically everyone, but we have to point out the Ducato platform’s age is showing, although Mobilvetta have leaned into making everything else so good you’ll only notice it from time to time.

Design

The Mobilvetta Admiral K6.3 looks and feels very modern when compared to other large campers currently in-market.
The exterior of the Admiral K6.3 is very cool and cuts a stylish figure in the usual sea of white and cream vehicles. The model we were loaned was finished in black with go-faster stripe decals, and simple brand/model signs. The 16-inch alloy wheels are very smart and the front end looks great in black with the honeycomb holes under the main Fiat logo making it appear sporty. On the inside, we think you’ll agree that it’s been excellently designed with a nice blend of woods, plastic covered surfaces, comfortable leather-effect materials on the seats, and mood lighting throughout. Take a look at the pictures and you’ll see what we mean, there’s little to quibble over here. It feels very modern when compared to other large campers currently in-market.

Living

We'd go so far as to say that this might be one of the best equipped campers for storage we've ever been in.
Living in and with this vehicle is pretty simple. It’s a camper van, so it’s about maximising your storage space while providing somewhere to sleep, shower, eat, relax and go to the loo. And it does it well. Notable highlights include the exterior awning with integrated lighting, the reliable Combi 4 diesel heating system, the high-tech touchscreen power interface with access to mood lighting control, flyscreens and blinds on all habitation windows, the huge flyscreen on the main sliding door, the lovely upholstery, and the massive solar panel on the roof. The kitchen and sitting room spaces are right next to each other, and cooking can be a cramped affair, unless you open the side door, deploy the fly screen and let the outside space and light flood in. The dining area is a nice place to relax and is light and airy thanks to good skylight and window positioning. The bathroom and shower combo room are tastefully hidden away behind a sturdy door, so you always feel like it’s a separate space despite being right behind the wall behind the bench seat. And then you get to the sleeping/storage area and it’s all about the beds and lockers, of which there are plenty. In fact, we'd go so far as to say that this might be one of the best equipped campers for storage we've ever been in. They’re everywhere, including a tiny little drawer embedded in the bottom of the platform the dining table is mounted on. Despite its size, the interior is cosy without being cramped, but when the bed is deployed you can only get to it by way of the corridor and it’s only really big enough for one person to traverse - not a deal breaker by any means, just worth pointing out. Check out the pictures and you’ll see we had a blast in this camper. If you use it like a camper, it shines, if you try to use it like a motorhome then you’ll find shortcomings that really shouldn’t be levelled at it.

Dining

It all works, it’s all sturdy, what more could you need? Well, the oven and hob are a good start and nicely placed right next to the seating area.
Eating inside the vehicle is a simple case of choosing where you want to sit in the sitting room at the front of the vehicle and then adjusting the table’s folding panels to get the table into the right shape. The main passenger seat and bench seat sit opposite each other either side of the main table. The driver can then fold out another section of the table in front of them and eat off that. It all works, it’s all sturdy, what more could you need? Well, the oven and hob are a good start. You get a two-burner gas hob with oven and grill beneath, an 84-litre compressor fridge with freezer compartment, a useful chopping board, a very cool slide-out larder style storage unit underneath the work surface, and a sink with a foldable mixer tap. It would be great if a microwave was included, but you can always plug one if you need to and run it off the leisure battery or power hookup. And we also recommend unfurling the awning and setting up your own table and chairs outside if the weather is nice.

Sleeping

Overall, we were impressed with the sleeping arrangements, with the only quibble being minor confusion over which way round the mattresses were meant to be placed.
The sleeping area at the back can be configured as two fold-down single beds or into one huge bed with enough room for a family of three people - we had two adults and their 10-year-old son make sure. The memory foam mattresses are comfortable without being too soft (the sprung bases adding some bounce), and the windows close securely with the shutters down. The sleeping position is relatively high due to the storage lockers underneath, which means you feel elevated and safe, although if you’re over six foot tall don’t sit up too quickly as the roof is lower than you’d expect. The corridor to the living space is long, which makes it feel like there’s a welcome separation between the living and sleeping spaces. Overall, we were impressed and the only quibble to mention was not really being sure which way round the mattresses were meant to be placed due to the cutaways in them. Small potatoes like these, however, will not stop us awarding full marks here.

Value for money

Considering smaller campers aren’t a huge drop in price from this one, if a larger camper is what you’re after then this is a great one to add to your wishlist.
As big campers go, the £79,995 OTR pricing feels right for one that’s so geared towards people looking to get out and about, although it’s still a significant investment and one that can be broken down on finance. We can imagine the lockers and storage filled with wetsuits and surfboards, with salty people having dinner in the living space after a great day at the beach. Equally, we can see a couple simply driving up to a pitch and hooking up for the weekend staying static and getting around using it as a base for a short holiday. Considering smaller campers aren’t a huge drop in price, if a larger camper is what you’re after then this is a great one for your wishlist. Admittedly, if you’re looking at smaller campers, there are those that will sleep four built into medium van bodies. But we think the value comes from the clever use of space that enables a nice sitting room, a well-equipped kitchen, bathroom and huge sleeping area to coexist inside the Fiat Ducato’s body.

Why buy?

You’ll buy the Mobilvetta Admiral K6.3 over a smaller campervan that sleeps more people because you’re looking for a large camper with excellent modern fittings, bags of sleeping room and a decent bathroom. That this vehicle has won awards for being luxurious is no mistake because it is, and rightly wears the awards badges proudly on its marketing.
