Mazda 2 1.5 Sport car review
The last 12 months have seen the stunning Audi R8, Ford Mondeo and BMW M3 go on sale. And all three of these big releases were beaten to the title of World Car of the Year by the Mazda 2 supermini. We were stunned by the new Mazda 2’s lightweight shell, sleek looks and stunning handling when we drove it round the dazzling roads of Tuscany and Scotland last year. So when we were given the opportunity to take a Mazda 2 on loan for a week we jumped at the chance.

Mazda2 hatchback (2010 – ) first drive
The current Ford Fiesta has been Britain’s best-selling car for a while, but the Mazda2, a model which is closely related to it, has done rather well too.

New-look Mazda2 on sale now
The new-look, more efficient Mazda2 is now on sale, priced from £9,995. The revised Mazda2 – available in three- and five-door guise – now comes with a range of efficient engines, all of which meet Euro 5 emissions standards and have improved fuel consumption.

Mazda 2 TS2 hatchback (2007 – ) first drive
Unveiled as five-door to huge acclaim last year, the Mazda 2 supermini has been a resounding hit for the Hiroshima-based car maker with success culminating in it being named 2008 World Car of the Year. Now a three-door Mazda 2 boasting an even sportier design is available to the European market. Adrian Hearn was in the stunning sun-kissed archipelago of Stockholm, Sweden for the first European drive of the Mazda 2 three-door.

Sporty 3-door Mazda 2 on sale
The Mazda 2 supermini which scooped the World Car of the Year award is now available as a three-door, with sporty looks and a lower price starting from £7,999. Five new Mazda 2 models join the current range – a 1.3-litre TS petrol, 1.3-litre TS2 petrol, 1.5-litre Sport petrol, 1.4-litre TS diesel and 1.4-litre TS2 diesel.
