What is the Dart Charge?
The Dart Charge is a charge you have to pay to use a road known as the Dartford-Thurrock River Crossing. This crossing is also sometimes referred to as the Dartford Crossing or Dartford Tunnel.
The tunnel is a major road crossing, on the River Thames, it carries the A282 road between Dartford in Kent and Thurrock in Essex. There are two bored tunnels and the cable-stayed Queen Elizabeth II Bridge. The Dartford crossing is the busiest estuarial crossing in the UK, it is used by around 130,000 vehicles a day.

When do you have to pay the Dart Charge?
6 am and 10 pm every day, including weekends and bank holidays.
You have to pay the Dartford Crossing charge by midnight, the day after you cross. If you don’t pay the charge or pay the charge late, you will get a fine.
