Stock Boost

This Stock Boost is provided subject to the Main Advertising Terms & Conditions which are incorporated into these Rules by reference.

Terms defined in the Main Advertising Terms & Conditions shall have the same meaning in these Rules provided that, should a term be defined in both the Main Advertising Terms & Conditions and these Rules, the meaning of the term defined in these Rules shall have precedence in relation to these Rules.

    Business Rules ("Rules")

  1. In these Rules, unless the context otherwise requires, the following terms have the following meanings:

    1. "Baseline Date" means 11.59pm on 18th January 2025, except for New Business Advertisers (in which case the Baseline Date shall be as set out in clause 3);
    2. "Boost Period" means the period commencing on Monday 3rd March 2025 and ending on Monday 2nd June 2025 (inclusive) during which the Stock Boost will apply;
    3. "Contracted Stock Level" means the number of Advertisements the Qualifying Advertiser (or, as applicable, Qualifying Advertiser's group) has contracted for under their Advertising Agreement as at the Baseline Date, except for Qualifying Advertisers who upgrade from the Bargain package or 5-car flat discount rate (in accordance with clause 9 below) for whom the Contracted Stock Level is 5 vehicles. In each case, the Contracted Stock Level does not include any Bargain Allowance, Tactical Stock or any offer stock;
    4. "Excluded Advertisers" means

      1. Advertisers on a bespoke contract;
      2. Advertisers on the Bargain package; and
      3. Advertisers on the 5-car flat discount rate,
      4. in each case, as at 11.59pm on Friday 28th February 2025;

    5. "New Business Advertisers" means Qualifying Advertisers who are an independent car or van retailer and who sign up to an Advertisement Agreement with Auto Trader in the period between 19 January and 30 April 2025 (inclusive);
    6. "Qualifying Advertisers" means Advertisers who, subject to any other of these Rules:

      1. are car and/or van retailers (including in Northern Ireland);
      2. who have an active Advertising Agreement in place with Auto Trader as at 11.59pm on 18th January 2025, or who are New Business Advertisers (in accordance with clause 3); and
      3. are not Excluded Advertisers;
    7. "Relevant Period" means the period from 12.00am on Saturday 8th February until the end of the Boost Period;
    8. "Stock Boost means the promotion operated by Auto Trader which will mean the Qualifying Advertisers automatically receive the Stock Boost Allowance free-of-charge, in addition to the Contracted Stock Level, during the Boost Period, subject to the Qualifying Advertiser's compliance with these Rules; and
    9. "Stock Boost Allowance" means the additional stock that shall automatically be made available free-of-charge to a Qualifying Advertiser, during the Boost Period, as specified in the confirmation email to be sent by Auto Trader to the Qualifying Advertiser during the week commencing Monday 27th January 2025.
  2. The Stock Boost shall automatically apply to all Qualifying Advertisers, for the duration of the Boost Period, provided that the Qualifying Advertiser maintains their contracted stock at the Contracted Stock Level or higher (not including the Stock Boost Allowance) for the duration of the Relevant Period, subject to these Rules.

    New Business Advertisers shall be entitled to benefit from the Stock Boost if they are live on the Auto Trader Platform by 11.59pm on Wednesday 30th April 2025, subject to these Rules. For such New Business Advertisers, the Baseline Date shall be the date, between 19th January and 30th April 2025 (inclusive), when they first go live on the Auto Trader Platform.

  3. If a Qualifying Advertiser has a pending stock downgrade or cancellation due to go live on or before 11.59pm on 7th February , they will not be eligible for the Stock Boost unless they retract the downgrade or cancellation (as applicable) and ensure that their contracted stock is back at the Contracted Stock Level by 11.59pm on Friday 7th February.
  4. Subject to the remainder of this clause and clauses 6 and 8, if a Qualifying Advertiser gives notice to downgrade their Contracted Stock Level, or cancel their Advertising Agreement, during the Relevant Period and: (i) the downgrade or cancellation is due to go live before 2nd June 2025; and (ii) in the case of a stock downgrade, would take the Qualifying Advertiser's contracted stock level below the Contracted Stock Level, such Qualifying Advertiser shall no longer qualify for the Stock Boost and the Stock Boost Allowance shall be removed on the date on which such downgrade or cancellation (as applicable) becomes effective (i.e. on expiry of the 30-day notice period). If the Qualifying Advertiser withdraws their downgrade or cancellation before the end of the 30-day notice period for such downgrade or cancellation (such that their contracted stock remains at the Contracted Stock Level or higher for the Relevant Period), then the Stock Boost will continue to apply to the Qualifying Advertiser for the remainder of the Boost Period.
  5. Where a Qualifying Advertiser is part of a group, the Stock Boost Allowance will be allocated at individual site level. This means that: (i) a Qualifying Advertiser within a group can adjust their contracted stock at their site; and (ii) a new site can join an existing group and benefit from the Stock Boost, in each case provided that the contracted stock is maintained at the Contracted Stock Level or higher across the group for the duration of the Relevant Period. If the contracted stock across the group is reduced below the Contracted Stock Level during the Relevant Period, the group as a whole shall no longer qualify for the Stock Boost.
  6. In the event a Qualifying Advertiser (or, as applicable, Qualifying Advertiser's group) downgrades their contracted stock below the Contracted Stock Level (as detailed in clause 5 or 6), or if they cancel their Advertisement Agreement, in each case during the Relevant Period, they will not be eligible for the Stock Boost again at any point in the future regardless of any subsequent stock upgrades or if they come back onto the Auto Trader Platform.
  7. A Qualifying Advertiser (or, as applicable, Qualifying Advertiser's group) can upgrade their Contracted Stock Level at any time during the Boost Period and the Stock Boost shall be applied to their new upgraded stock level (and Auto Trader shall confirm the revised Stock Boost Allowance for that Qualifying Retailer). For the avoidance of any doubt, if a Qualifying Advertiser, during the Relevant Period, upgrades their contracted stock above the Contracted Stock Level and then subsequently downgrades their stock level, but does not go below the Contracted Stock Level, they will remain eligible for the Stock Boost.
  8. If an Advertiser on the Bargain Package or 5-car flat discount rate upgrades to a Starter package or above, during the period from 19th January – 28th February 2025, they will become eligible for the Stock Boost. For such Qualifying Advertisers, the Contracted Stock Level shall be 5 vehicles.
  9. Any new business franchise retailers who sign up to an Advertising Agreement with Auto Trader, after 18th January 2025, will not be eligible for the Stock Boost. Such Advertisers may be eligible for the Franchise New Business Stock Offer, subject to the relevant Franchise New Business Stock Offer Business Rules. For the avoidance of doubt, new business franchise retailers who sign up to an Advertising Agreement with Auto Trader, on or before 18th January 2025, will be eligible for the Stock Boost.
  10. Communication regarding the Stock Boost will be via email and/or Portal.
  11. Qualifying Advertisers will be responsible for adding any additional vehicles as part of the Stock Boost either through Portal or AT Connect or via stock feed.
  12. Immediately following the end of the Boost Period, the Qualifying Advertiser's stock levels will automatically revert to the Contracted Stock Level.
  13. Qualifying Advertisers cannot advertise stock in connection with this Stock Boost on behalf of a third party or another retailer.
  14. Auto Trader reserves the right to allow or refuse to allow any Qualifying Advertiser to participate in this Stock Boost at any time, at our sole discretion.
  15. Auto Trader reserves the right to make changes to these Rules at any time and shall give you at least 15 days' notice of any such changes in accordance with clause 2.4 of the Main Advertising Terms and Conditions.
  16. Auto Trader reserves the right to amend, modify or remove this Stock Boost at any point with immediate effect.
