Independent New Business Offer

This Independent New Business Offer is provided subject to the Main Advertising Terms & Conditions which are incorporated into the Rules by reference.

Terms defined in the Main Advertising Terms & Conditions shall have the same meaning in these Rules provided that, should a term be defined in both the Main Advertising Terms & Conditions and these Rules, the meaning of the term defined in these Rules shall have precedence in relation to these Rules.

    Business Rules ("Rules")

    1. In these Rules, unless the context otherwise requires, the following terms have the following meanings:
    2. "Contracted Stock Level" means the contracted number of stock that the Qualifying Advertiser holds as at the date they sign up to the Independent New Business Offer, or as subsequently upgraded during the Offer Period, which shall at no time be more than 50 vehicles;
    3. "Independent New Business Offer" means the promotion operated by Autotrader which allows Qualifying Advertisers, who commence advertising with Autotrader during the Offer Period, to receive their Contracted Stock Level and their Package free of charge for the first month of the Offer Period and at a 50% discount for the next two months of the Offer Period, subject to these Rules;
    4. "Offer Period" means the consecutive three-month period, starting from when the Qualifying Advertiser signs up to the Independent New Business Offer during the Sign-up Period, when the Qualifying Advertiser is benefitting from the Independent New Business Offer;
      1. "Qualifying Retailers" means Advertisers who:
      2. are independent car and van dealers only (including in Northern Ireland), including new groups, who have been invited to participate in this Independent New Business Offer;
      3. are taking a Standard or Enhanced Package and have a Contracted Stock Level of no more than 50 vehicles;
      4. are not already an Autotrader customer prior to the start date of the Sign-Up Period; and
      5. are not signed up to any other stock or new business offer.
    5. "Sign-up Period" means the period between 23rd March 2026 to 29th May 2026 inclusive, as may be extended by Autotrader at its discretion.
  1. The Independent New Business Offer is available to Qualifying Advertisers who sign-up for the Independent New Business Offer during the Sign-Up Period, subject to these Rules.
  2. To benefit from the Independent New Business Offer, Qualifying Advertisers must maintain their stock at or above the Contracted Stock Level (as at the date they signed up to the Independent New Business Offer) for the entire Offer Period. Qualifying Advertisers can upgrade their Contracted Stock Level at any point during the Offer Period, up to a maximum of 50 vehicles
  3. In addition to the Contracted Stock Level, additional stock can be purchased as tactical stock in accordance with the Autotrader Packages Business Rules. Such tactical stock shall be chargeable at full price at the relevant rate card. This will not impact a Qualifying Advertiser’s eligibility for the Independent New Business Offer.
  4. A Qualifying Advertiser will not be eligible for the Independent New Business Offer if, during the Offer Period, it: (i) cancels the Independent New Business Offer; (ii) cancels or downgrades its Package; or (iii) downgrades its stock level to below the Contracted Stock Level, as at the date they signed up to the Independent New Business Offer. In such cases, the Qualifying Advertiser will not be eligible to rejoin the Independent New Business Offer, or any other stock or Package offer open to new business customers.
  5. Immediately following the end of the Offer Period, the Qualifying Advertiser will automatically be charged for their Package at full price and the Qualifying Advertiser’s stock will stay at the Contracted Stock Level as at the last day of the Offer Period. Qualifying Advertisers who wish to downgrade their Package or their stock level from the Contracted Stock Level at the end of the Offer Period can request an immediate downgrade during the week immediately following the end of the Offer Period. The standard downgrade and cancellation notice requirements (i.e. 30 days’ notice), as set out in the Main Advertising Terms and Conditions, shall apply after that week.
  6. This Independent New Business Offer cannot be taken alongside any other offer. Qualifying Advertisers who participate in the Independent New Business Offer shall not be entitled to participate in any other stock and/or Package offers during the Offer Period.
  7. If there are any Charges payable to Autotrader by a Qualifying Advertiser which remain unpaid beyond the specified due date (as determined in accordance with the Main Advertising Terms and Conditions), such Qualifying Advertiser will no longer qualify for the Independent New Business Offer with immediate effect.
  8. Communication regarding the Independent New Business Offer will be via email, Portal, or from your Autotrader account manager.
  9. Qualifying Advertisers cannot advertise stock in connection with the Independent New Business Offer on behalf of a third party or another dealer.
  10. Autotrader reserves the right to allow or refuse to allow any Qualifying Advertiser to participate in the Independent New Business Offer at its sole discretion.
  11. Qualifying Advertisers that breach these Rules may be charged Autotrader's standard rate card for the duration of the Offer Period (including retrospectively).
  12. Autotrader reserves the right to make changes to these Rules at any time and shall give Qualifying Advertisers at least 15 days' notice of any such changes in accordance with clause 2.4 of the Main Advertising Terms and Conditions.
  13. Autotrader reserves the right to remove or extend this Independent New Business Offer at any point with immediate effect.
