Types of Valuation
Retail valuation
The Autotrader Retail Valuation is a live view of what a retailer could expect to sell a vehicle for to a consumer. Calculated from advertised retail prices of similar vehicles available for sale over the last 28 days.

Trended valuations
Trended Valuations provide a view of how the Retail Valuation has trended ranging from six months in the past, to six months into the future.
Future valuations
The Autotrader Future Valuation forecasts what a vehicle will be worth up to 6 years in the future. It is calculated based on historic valuations, current market performance, seasonality and derivative lifecycle to forecast a future event. It can be used to model how the retail or trade valuation is likely to trend over time.
Historic valuations
The Autotrader Historic Valuation looks back at what a vehicle was worth up to 18 months before the present date. It is calculated based on similar vehicles in the marketplace within a 28 day period of the date the on the valuation request. It can be used to model how the retail, private, trade or part-exchange valuation has trended over time.
