Volvo S60 R-Design saloon (2011 – ) first UK drive
The Volvo S60 coupe has been winning Volvo praise thanks to its good looks, comfort and enjoyable handling. Now Volvo has added its R-Design package to the range, and we’ve tested it. The S60 is designed to appeal to the young and young-at-heart, and the addition of an R-Design S60 so soon after its launch is telling of this coupe’s target audience.

The new Volvo S60 and V60 saloon and estate will soon be available as R-Design models, featuring racier suspension and looks. Upgrades are available across the entire S60 and V60 range, from the economical 163bhp D3 2-litre diesel up to the performance 304bhp T6 petrol.

Volvo embrace new 1.6-litre petrol engine
Volvo has announced an all-new 1.6-litre GTDi petrol engine, which will be introduced into the S60 saloon and V60 estate before the end of the year. This move confirms Volvo’s commitment to ‘down-sizing’ engines, using direct fuel injection and turbocharging to extract performance from small, economical engines.
