Skoda Fabia Estate (2015 - ) front cornering

Skoda Fabia 1.2 SE Estate 5dr Petrol Manual (start/stop) (107 g/km, 89 bhp) Estate (2014 - ) expert review

The Skoda Fabia Estate is very much a does-what-it-says-on-the-tin kind of car. If you’re after an extremely capable supermini, but with extra space and for not that much more money, then this is the car for you. It’s a very good all-rounder, providing space, practicality and equipment in spades. Be sure to choose the right engine, however, otherwise it won’t be nearly so impressive.

Skoda Fabia Hatchback ride

Skoda Fabia 1.2 (s/s) SE Hatchback 5dr Petrol DSG (109 g/km, 109 bhp) Hatchback (2014 - ) expert review

The Skoda Fabia is a very capable supermini, doing a good job in most areas, most notably practicality. However, there aren’t enough areas in which it truly shines, so it can’t trouble the best cars in the class. Worth a look if you’re after a less obvious supermini choice, though.

Skoda Fabia Monte Carlo Hatch

Skoda Fabia 1.2 SE Hatchback 5dr Petrol Manual (121 g/km, 85 bhp) Hatchback (2010 - ) expert review

The Fabia is easy to drive, comfortable and practical. All that makes it a decent car, but unfortunately for Skoda, the supermini class is full of exceptional cars. These make the Fabia look very out of date in a number of different areas. We’d look elsewhere.

Used cars with the lowest running costs

With fuel prices at an unprecedented high and a one penny per litre cut in fuel tax unlikely to transform your motoring costs, a fuel efficient car could be for you.
