Mercedes-Benz GLA Class 2.1CDI SE SUV 5dr Diesel 4MATIC 7G-DCT (134 g/km, 170 bhp) SUV (2014 - ) expert review
The Mercedes GLA’s a curious mix of the very good and the slightly underwhelming.

Its blend of excellent space, fine comfort, superb refinement and excellent driving manners makes the S-Class a wonderful luxury car. Packed full of innovative, but easy-to-use, technology and conveying a prestigious image, it’s an unbeatable package.

This second generation Mercedes GL is just as imposing as the first version. Luxurious, refined and quite simply vast, Mercedes’ answer to the Range Rover has much to recommend it.

Mercedes-Benz CLS 2.1CDI CLS350 BlueTEC AMG Line Coupe 4dr Diesel 9G-Tronic Plus (142 g/km, 255 bhp) Coupe (2014 - ) expert review
If you don’t mind paying the extra it costs over the equivalent E-Class saloon, the CLS is a stylish and practical way to carry four people and their luggage.

Mercedes-Benz CLA Class 2.1TD CLA 220 CDI Sport Coupe 4dr Diesel 7G-DCT (117 g/km, 175 bhp) Coupe (2013 - ) expert review
The Mercedes CLA is a small saloon with sleek styling reminiscent of the bigger CLS. Elegant and sporty, with efficient turbo petrol and diesel engines, it should attract a younger crowd to the brand. Just make sure you can live with the firm ride.

Mercedes-Benz A Class 1.8 CDI A200 AMG Sport Hatchback 5dr Diesel Manual (121 g/km, 136 bhp) Hatchback (2012 - ) expert review
The Mercedes A-Class impresses on interior quality and styling, and it’s as desirable as a Benz should be. It’s nowhere near good enough for ride or handling, though, and it also disappoints on refinement, ergonomics, practicality and value for money. There are much better cars out there for less cash.

Mercedes-Benz SL Class 4.7 SL500 AMG Sport Convertible 2dr Petrol Automatic (212 g/km, 435 bhp) Convertible (2012 - ) expert review
Mercedes’ flagship roadster sticks to a formula of subtle sophistication and effortless year-round usability. With a feel-good factor that few cars can compete with, the SL500 has plenty of ownership appeal, though it’s too mute in its feedback to appeal to keen drivers.

Mercedes-Benz B Class 1.8TD BlueEFFICIENCY (s/s) B180 SE Hatchback 5dr Diesel Manual (115 g/km, 109 bhp) Hatchback (2011 - ) expert review
The second generation Mercedes B-Class MPV is more handsome, bigger inside and better to drive than its predecessor. However, the ride is firm and the automatic gearbox is indecisive and slow to shift.

Mercedes-Benz C Class 2.1CDI C250 CDI AMG Sport Coupe 2dr Diesel Manual (143 g/km, 204 bhp) Coupe (2011 - ) expert review
The Mercedes C-Class Coupe rivals the likes of the Audi A5 and BMW 4 Series Coupe. It has a range of strong engines and smart looks, but the ride and refinement are disappointing. It's not cheap, either.
