The Mercedes-Benz GLA’s a curious mix of the very good and the slightly underwhelming. On the whole, though, it appeals. If you don’t want four-wheel-drive and an automatic gearbox, it’ll seem very expensive – but if you do, it’s a strong contender

Its blend of excellent space, fine comfort, superb refinement and excellent driving manners makes the S-Class a wonderful luxury car. Packed full of innovative, but easy-to-use, technology and conveying a prestigious image, it’s an unbeatable package.

The Mercedes CLA is a small saloon with sleek styling reminiscent of the bigger CLS. Elegant and sporty, with efficient turbo petrol and diesel engines, it should attract a younger crowd to the brand. Just make sure you can live with the firm ride.

The Mercedes A-Class impresses on interior quality and styling, and it’s as desirable as a Benz should be. It’s nowhere near good enough for ride or handling, though, and it also disappoints on refinement, ergonomics, practicality and value for money. There are much better cars out there for less cash.

Mercedes’ flagship roadster sticks to a formula of subtle sophistication and effortless year-round usability. With a feel-good factor that few cars can compete with, the SL500 has plenty of ownership appeal, though it’s too mute in its feedback to appeal to keen drivers.

The second generation Mercedes B-Class MPV is more handsome, bigger inside and better to drive than its predecessor. However, the ride is firm and the automatic gearbox is indecisive and slow to shift.

The Mercedes C-Class Coupe rivals the likes of the Audi A5 and BMW 4 Series Coupe. It has a range of strong engines and smart looks, but the ride and refinement are disappointing. It's not cheap, either.

It's no wonder the baby soft-roader niche is exploding at the moment. Smaller SUVs combine the raised driving position and aspirational image of their larger brethren with more palatable dimensions, and consequently they're in high demand. As a result, many manufacturers are looking for a slice of the market – and the latest to do so is Mercedes, with the GLA.

The new Mercedes S-Class Coupe has been revealed ahead of the car making its public debut at March's Geneva Motor Show. Replacing the current CL as the large coupe in the Mercedes range, the S-Class Coupe is the third of the planned seven lines in the range, after the saloon and long-wheelbase models.

The new Mercedes V-Class has been revealed ahead of it going on sale in the UK in the spring of 2015. Replacing the Viano in the Mercedes range, the V-Class features upgraded engines, a thoroughly redesigned interior and an updated look, which echoes the new S-Class and C-Class saloons.
