The new Nissan Note has plenty to live up to, because its predecessor was seriously popular. As a mini-MPV, the first version gave buyers more space and practicality than your average supermini, and it was also well equipped, strong on quality and affordable to buy and run.

Nissan has had a change of priorities with the new Note, which it unveiled here in Geneva. The old model was a mini-MPV, but this latest model is designed to attract buyers from the biggest-selling superminis, such as the Fiesta.

This is the all new Nissan Note, which has just been unveiled at its global premiere in Japan. The above picture shows the Japanese market version. The UK model will look broadly similar, though will feature more assertive design elements, with a different grille and front bumper design expected.
