The Nissan Note offers superb practicality thanks to its Tardis-like cabin. It’s well specced, cheap to run, and fun to drive.

Just because you need a family car doesn’t mean you have to drive something that looks dull – that much is clear from the eccentric styling of Nissan’s new Note. It may be built in Britain, at Nissan’s renowned Sunderland plant, but that alone won’t be enough to win over British buyers. Does this oddball car have some new and exciting to bring to this hotly contested end of the market?

Nissan has had a change of priorities with the new Note, which it unveiled here in Geneva. The old model was a mini-MPV, but this latest model is designed to attract buyers from the biggest-selling superminis, such as the Fiesta.

These are the first pictures of the new Nissan Note, which will be unveiled at the Geneva Show next month. An all-new design, the car will be packed with technology that has never been available in this class.

This is the all new Nissan Note, which has just been unveiled at its global premiere in Japan. The above picture shows the Japanese market version. The UK model will look broadly similar, though will feature more assertive design elements, with a different grille and front bumper design expected.
