The latest Ford C-MAX is Ford’s answer to families that have outgrown the Focus. It’s roomy and practical; has plenty of clever technology, along with curvy, stylish exterior styling.

The handsome Ford C-Max was a relative latecomer to the compact MPV market; but buyers have wasted no time in taking it to their hearts. Its now one of the best sellers in its class. It's based on the excellent Ford Focus hatchback (the original version was known as the Ford Focus C-Max), which grants it excellent driving dynamics. But will the lack of a seven seat option put Auto Trader off? Stuart Milne spent a week with one to find out.

The Ford C-MAX and Grand C-MAX MPVs are now available with the award winning 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine. With impressive power levels of either 99bhp or 123bhp, thanks to clever turbocharging and fuel injection.

Ford has announced its petrol engine of the future will power the Ford Focus, C-MAX, Grand C-MAX and the upcoming B-MAX, despite being just a 1-litre. Traditionally an engine of this size would likely be found in the Ford Ka city car, not the Grand C-MAX seven-seat MPV.
