  • Just 24 cars coming to the UK
  • Costs £34,995 on-the-road
  • Orders open now
The Seat Leon Cupra R first appeared at the Frankfurt Motor Show back in September, but you can now get your hands on one yourself – if you’re super quick.
Although there will be 799 models made for global sale in the first half of 2018, just 24 will be coming to the UK. The Cupra R is available to order now, costing £34,995. So what makes the Cupra R so special? Well, it’s pretty powerful. Its speed is limited to 155mph, and it will do the 0-62mph dash in 5.8seconds. It’s got a new steering system, four Brembo brake callipers, and a retuned exhaust system, which will sound more aggressive than the ‘standard’ Cupra model. It looks more aggressive too, with carbon fibre details around the body, extended wheel arches, and copper colouring on the door mirrors, tailgate lettering, and alloy wheels. The UK model is a front-wheel-drive car, with 310 horsepower, and will come with a six-speed manual gearbox. Colour wise, buyers can choose from Monsoon Grey and Midnight Black, which are both included in the price. Inside, the Cupra R continues the copper theme from the exterior, with bits on the dashboard, centre console, door panel stitching, and steering wheel Cupra logo. It’s also got bucket seats with copper stitching, and Alcantara (suede) on the gearstick, steering wheel, and seats. It comes with some decent tech too, including keyless entry and go, a wireless charger, heated front seats, rear view camera, a tiredness recognition system, premium soundsystem by Beats, adaptive cruise control, and a fancy infotainment system. More information is available on Seat’s website, but be quick if you fancy ordering one as an early Christmas present. Those 24 models are likely to be sold pretty sharpish.
