Ford shows off production version of upmarket Kuga Vignale

Ford expands its Vignale range with the addition of the Kuga, which like all Vignales, has an exclusive specification and is available only through a network of FordStores

  • Third model to receive Vignale treatment after Mondeo and S-Max
  • Features exclusive specification and hand-finished craftsmanship
  • Available to order at 70 FordStores in the UK
Ford has revealed the production version of the new Kuga Vignale that will go on sale in Europe later this year. Along with the Edge SUV and S-Max MPV, it’s one of three Vignale models to introduced this year, and will go on sale alongside the Mondeo, which was the first Ford model to receive the Vignale treatment.
Vignale is the name given to a new upmarket car-buying experience set up by Ford, and each of the cars has an exclusive specification, with what Ford calls ‘meticulous craftsmanship’ inside. Rather than being available through the full Ford network, they are sold through a smaller network of ‘FordStores’, all of which have a dedicated Vignale Lounge, which delivers a personalised experience supported by a Vignale Relationship Manager. There are currently 70 such stores in the UK. The car in our pictures has pearlescent-metallic Vignale Milano Grigio paintwork combined with Cashmere leather interior trim, but customers have plenty of scope to personalise their car. On this car, the paintwork is complemented by dark gloss effect finishes for the front and rear skid plates and boot trim, while inside, the seats, door trims and dash are finished in hexagonal-quilted leather.

Like all Vignale models, the Kuga will feature Ford’s Sync 3 infotainment system that’s centred on an 8.0‑inch touch-screen which allows smartphone-style pinch and swipe gestures; the sat-nav system can also be programmed by voice control, while a premium audio system is fitted.
Customers can specify the Kuga Viganle with a variety of petrol and diesel engines, and the most powerful units come with Ford’s ‘intelligent’ all-wheel drive system. As part of the Vignale package, customers will have access to a dedicated service that will help arrange exclusive travel and lifestyle experiences, including theatre, music and sporting events. There’s no word yet on how much the Kuga Vignale will cost, but Ford has confirmed that it will be available to order later this year. Find a Ford Kuga in our classifieds
