MINI recalls 235,000 cars

MINI is recalling 235,000 cars worldwide, due to concerns that faulty water pumps pose a fire risk. The fault stems from the water pump that is used to cool the turbocharger. Heat build-up in the electrical circuit of the pump can cause it to fail, potentially causing smouldering or even catching fire.

MINI Hampton and Pimlico specials announced

Two new special editions of the MINI have been announced – the Hatch Pimlico and the Clubman Hampton. The MINI Clubman Hampton arrives in March and will be offered in Reef Blue metallic only, a colour unique to this car. The roof and rear door surrounds are black however.

MINI Cooper S goes diesel

A 143bhp diesel version of the MINI Cooper S has gone on sale, featuring the largest engine ever fitted to a car wearing MINI badges. The 2-litre Mini Cooper SD is being offered in Hatch, Convertible, Clubman and Countryman forms, with prices starting at £18,750 for the hatch.
