Infiniti FX 4×4 (2009 – ) expert review
Big and bold, the Infiniti FX is a distinctly left-field addition to the performance 4x4 market. You’ve got to be completely sold on the looks, though, because it can’t compete with the BMW X6 and Porsche Cayenne on the road.

The Toyota GT86 marks a return to sports models for the manufacturer best known for its economical family cars. Designed to be as low as possible, it’s a hoot to drive, despite being not that quick in a straight line.

Audi A6 allroad estate (2012 – ) expert review
Audi’s latest mud-plugger A6 follows in the mould of its predecessors: offering off-road capability in a package that shows little compromise over the standard car. It’s a superbly subtle 4x4; though for most, the abilities of the cheaper Quattro A6 Avant will be more than enough.

BMW 1 Series range grows
BMW has announced a number of key additions to its 1 Series hatchback range. Firstly, the M135i concept car, first unveiled at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, is to go into full series production and will sit at the top of the 1 series line-up.

Vauxhall to update its engine range
Vauxhall has announced it is to replace its core engine range with a trio of new engine families in the next 12 months. The first to be announced is an all-new, direct fuel-injected 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine.

BMW 3 Series Touring reaches UK shores this September
The BMW 3 Series Touring is due to go on sale in the UK this September, priced from £29,380. Based on the recently launched 3 Series saloon, the Touring shares that car’s front-end aesthetic but swaps the stubby saloon profile for a gently sloped extended roofline with extended glazing.

The new MINI John Cooper Works GP will be the fastest ever factory-built MINI Hatch when it goes on sale in limited numbers this summer. Just 2,000 will be sold, with MINI-obsessed collectors the most likely customers.
