VOLKSWAGEN LUPO 1.4 E 3dr (Review date: 18th September '11)

Great first car, practical cenral city car, not so practical if you have children!

Very easy to park, nice to drive - extremely economical for the running around town trips.

Loved My Loops

VOLKSWAGEN LUPO 1.4 S 3dr Auto (Review date: 2nd September '11)

4.5

Had my Lupo from 2005 (new) until 2011, and was a great little car. She didn't break down once and was surprisingly very very nippy!! Handling wasn't amazingly fantastic, but for a first car, I do highly recommend. Lupo's are small - a perfect size for a first car and Volkswagen's are extremely well made. Running costs were brilliant, i'd fill up a full tank every week at about £30. So, parent's if you are reading this wondering if a Lupo should be your Son/ Daughter's first car, think about this...A woman crashed into me head on at 50mph, writing off my Lupo, but my car saved my life, as I came out of it with not a scratch on me. RIP my little life saver!!

Great little first car, will get you there fast and cheap

VOLKSWAGEN LUPO 1.0 E 3dr (Review date: 7th August '11)

This was my first car and I have really loved it. It has a deep clutch and is great for hill starts when you're just starting out. It also has quite wide set gears so there is no catching when you change gear. It can fit a few friends in and has even carried cricket bags and suitcases which is easy thanks to the fold down back seats.

It's super cheap to run, about £40 to fill the tank which will last me a couple of weeks of 15 minute commutes. The insurance and tax are also within lower categories. The steering wheel and drivers seat are fully adjustable making the drive quite comfortable. The only thing I can complain of is lack of CD player, although there are several cassette to mp3 player jacks on sale in Argos etc.

Super, Nippy, Smooth, Fun Little Car!!

VOLKSWAGEN LUPO 1.4 S 3dr (Review date: 20th July '11)

4.8

I've had my Lupo 1.4 for 6 years. Its a great car to drive, easy to park and drive about town, but really flies on the motorway too! At first i thought the boot was going to be too small...but its deceiving...also back seats flip down easily to give a huge space to carry almost anything. I've had a double mattress folded over in it once!

There are some electrical issues as they get older (commented on Parkers reviews), but having researched this and had my garage check things over I'm not unduly worried by the occasional warning light coming on then going off again.

I had used the car in varying situations, daily to and from work and around the city. To go camping (only 2 people), carrying my dog in the back on road trips, driving kids and dog about on day trips. The only time I've found it not that practical is if i'm taking 2 or more people to the airport with more than 2 bags...its a bit of a squeeze!

Cheap to tax and fill up, insurance good value too, basically a good little car...but wouldn't recommend it for a family with more than 2 kids if you want to take luggage places...good for the odd over night trips though.

Lupo - The VW city car

VOLKSWAGEN LUPO 1.0 E 3dr (Review date: 18th July '11)

4.5

A fab all rounder. Cheap to insure & Tax. Low running costs. Cheap to run (fuel) and maintain. Perfect for running around the town/city or new drivers. Will do motorways but not recommended for long commutes this way. Compact boot but can hold family shopping for a week. Stylish. Basic functions - but less to go wrong!Easy to park in small spaces.

Brilliant car. VW were mad to stop making them.

VOLKSWAGEN LUPO 1.4 E 3dr (Review date: 2nd July '11)

I've owned my Lupo for 12 years, mainly because I never found anything that inspired me enough to replace it.

Looks fabulous, well built, great to drive, cheap to run and has plenty of space in the front. It'll even fit a couple of small children in the back.

It could do with a cd player instead of a cassette, but that's about my only niggle.

My Car is Awesome!

VOLKSWAGEN LUPO 1.6 GTi 3dr (Review date: 1st July '11)

Lupo GTIs are amazing. They're small, fast and handle like a go cart. My number plate has been on an episode of top gear too which makes me Lupo GTI the best on the road. Fact.

Dream car!

VOLKSWAGEN LUPO 1.4 S 3dr (Review date: 3rd June '11)

I have owned my Lupo for 3 years, and have enjoyed it immensely! It's a real fun car to own and drive. Running costs are really low - it does about 50mpg! I've carried my sister's two children and my dog in it, and there's plenty of room - admittedly you'd struggle with four adults, but for the size of the car it's surprisingly spacious. I've had lots of comments about the look of the car - it's very distinctive, and in my opinion is leagues ahead of other cars in its class in terms of style! It's never given me a moment's bother, and I'm reliably informed by my garage that so long as they're serviced regularly, they'll run for ever!

Cherished for a reason

VOLKSWAGEN LUPO 1.4 S 3dr Auto (Review date: 12th April '11)

4.8

We have owned this car in our family since new, and is now 13 years old. Not once have we encountered a single problem with the running of the car other than the usual servicing items. The car is incredibly light and is fantastically nippy and responsive to drive. We own an automatic variant and the gear transition is seamless and power supply constant. The front seats provide huge amounts of space whilst rear occupants may find their journey rather cramper, but this is about par for the course when you buy a car of this size. I would recommend this car to anyone who commutes to and from work and wants something that with both bring a smile to their face and keep their wallets feeling rather weighty.

great runner around town

VOLKSWAGEN LUPO 1.0 E 3dr (Review date: 24th March '11)

4.5

This VW LUPO is an excellent car about town, its great on fuel consumption, ideal for parking in small spaces...I have had this car for the last 4 years, it is reliable and because of the engine size (1000cc) its much cheaper to insure and run...I'm selling the car very reluctantly as i will be moving abroad...
