Excellent and practical car
VOLKSWAGEN GOLF PLUS 1.6 TDI 105 BlueMotion SE 5dr (Review date: 24th November '13)
This is an excellent car built by VW to high standards.
Handles very well and extremely comfortable drive.
Very roomy and practical to both passengers and luggage.
Very economic and low running costs .. road tax only £30 per year.
Drives like a Golf yet roomier .. would recommend without reservations.
This car is very versatile. Speedy and comfortable.

My wife is a GP and uses the car every day for her work. Our family lives in Portsmouth so we often do that trip in the car as well as trips to Exmouth to our holiday home. We have owned the car for two years. It has never let us down and is very practical with the tow bar allowing me to take the garden rubbish to the tip in my small trailer. My wife has developed a problem in her right foot which makes it preferable for us to have an automatic. we have a Merc SLK as a play car and have decided that she use that. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the car and whoever buys it will be very pleased with its presentation and performance. Being that little taller than the normal golf makes it feel very much more spacious especially for tall and large passengers.
Flexible and Econonical
VOLKSWAGEN GOLF PLUS 1.6 TDI 105 BlueMotion S 5dr (Review date: 19th January '12)
Great car for anyone who struggles to get down on the floor.
Easy to adapt to take adults and/or children but also nice and easy for long drives alone, everything is easy access.
Really good consumption on long journeys (56mpg avg) but as soon as you go round town it drops (around 42-45mpg). The Bluemotion is great for long delays!
Handles the road well in general, good in snow and ice too although it really doesn't like taking corners or roundabouts fast. It manages them but it feels like its tipping.
VOLKSWAGEN GOLF PLUS 1.6 TDI 105 SE 5dr (Review date: 20th November '11)
Very comfortable, extremely quiet on the road and very well built as you would axpect from VW.The engine pulls very strongly, even if it is a bit lacking at the lower end of the rev range BUT the fuel economy is dissapointing, 56 ish mpg during the summer months with very conservative driving and 52 ish during the winter when it takes about 10 miles to reach operating temperature!! Vw say this is normal and has no detrimental effect on its performance. I think this is hogwash and there is something amiss in the engihe management/ warm up. This issue will put me off buying another 16Tdi as people I've spoken to get better economy from the 2.0.
VW Gold Match Diesel 1.6 (105) WONDERFUL
VOLKSWAGEN GOLF PLUS 1.6 TDI 105 SE 5dr (Review date: 8th September '11)
Just what I wanted
VOLKSWAGEN GOLF PLUS 1.6 TDI 105 SE 5dr (Review date: 1st July '11)
I was after a car which was practical and economical with a bit of sexiness. I was going to go for something cheaper but the golf won me over. I'm tall so I wanted something I was comfortable in but also that someone could sit in the seat behind me and not get crushed. Also the boot is good and large and the sound system is great with the iphone dock (though that is a bit glitchy but only because I guess compatibility with the latest iphones is a slight issue).
I would rather have had a bluemotion but the TDI is pretty good, it only costs 30 quid a year to tax and the fuel economy is on average about 50-60 mpg if you drive reasonably, which is great.
The build quality is great, everything clicks and clips and closes in a very satisfying way, and the car is pretty pokey despite the diesel.
VW Gold Match 1.6 - Review
VOLKSWAGEN GOLF PLUS 1.6 TDI 105 SE 5dr (Review date: 12th March '11)
I ordered my Golf Match in early September 2010, and VW turned it around in 2 weeks for me. Exactly to the spec I required, and as an added bonus, they threw in the built in sat nav unit as part of the deal.
The car is nearly 6 months old and I can't fault it. Low emissions, cheap road tax (£30 a year), and the drive is brilliant. The car is cheap to run, despite the increased petrol prices, and I can average 600miles a tank dependent on driving style and where i'm heading. Even with the normal 8 mile trip to work, and the short trip to the shops during the day, I can average around 530miles a tank. The only bad point is that I got my sister insured on it, and she loves driving it!
I also have the media pack on the car, which is located in the arm rest. I normally plug the i-pod in which I can control on the media unit and the i-pod is hidden away. I also use the media point to charge my mobile phone and laptops can be plugged into the USB port.
I would recommend a Golf to my friends and will probably buy new again in a few years time. In fact, a colleague has just purchased a new Golf Blue Motion.
There's no questions about it, this is a 5 star car.
VOLKSWAGEN GOLF PLUS 2.0 TDI 140 SE 5dr DSG (Review date: 3rd March '11)
It is the first time I have owned a Golf car in spite of the fact that it is known to be reliable. It is certainly very well built and robust and great care has been taken with the design. However I am not too impressed with the braking it seems snatchy and not the usual smoothness of other cars I have owned. I also think that the rear vision is better on other makes of car but this may be only my interpretation. Overall I think it is good value for the price and very economical with fuel a definite plus point.
